Fairies: The Myths, Legends, & Lore Kindle Edition

I'm sad that I got a print where 30 whole pages are upside down.. it is still readable but it saddens me that they sell prints like these and don't warn buyers.

When they say fairies they mean everything really; trolls, elves, sylphs, goblins, myths, legends and even some theories about the Gods. From around the world.This is a cute little gift book. I really enjoyed it and it really touches on a lot of issues. Like I had forgotten Morgan Le Fey was considered a "faire folk," and that some people believe there's a fairy associated with absinthe (I bet.)Like I said a little dry in places but overall I really enjoyed it. A good book for children who are interested in the subject and maybe getting them interested a little bit into certain elements of history and geography with a fun tilt.

I bought this for research but found it so charming and enjoyable that I bought a second copy for a friend. She absolutely loved it. If you collect books on fairy lore or need to find a gift for a sweet girl, you can't go wrong with this.

I bought a BUNCH of these books a good few months ago, I’ve only read 2 (this being one of them) and I’m so glad I did.The facts are great and I love the poems they have spread throughout. The book also goes through each region’s version of fairies which is really cool to see!

Fairy lovers need this book! Fantasy authors need this book. This book is meant for more adults looking into the lore of the Fey. It's absolutely perfect for someone looking into the many tales of Fairy lore, it's sectioned off by area of the world and stories, I love this book, I also have the Dragon and Mermaid one as well. I mostly use the book for entertainment purposes but as a writer myself I like to be somewhat accurate with my portrayals of creatures and this was the only book I found that didn't treat me as a reader like a child. This is a must have!

I had gotten this for my 9 year old but too many big words and some not child appropriate things inside, but we read it together now and i can skip some parts and censor it for her lol

A very informative, beautifully designed book. I just have one gripe with it. "The Princess and the Frog" came out in 2009, not 1992. In case you're wondering why I bring this up, there is a discussion of fairy tales and their adaptations. Given that it is the first (and only) traditionally animated Disney movie to come out in years, this is an understandable mistake.Other than that, I totally recommend this book and its companion on Mermaids.

I'm actually currently writing a novel and this was great for research and references. It was very accurate, and the book itself was printed on nice paper and the covers nice. Although be careful, I got some hot chocolate on the cover and tried to rub it out and some of the color in the cover came off. Regaurdless I'm inlove with this book!

A great addition to the series.The sections are set out in a way that makes the book perfect for readers of all abilities.Whilst reading this book, I began to have a good ponder about everything I was meant to know.A definite must have for anybody who seeks alternative explanations about the world we live in or for anybody who wants to know more about the fae.

Lovely book- very interesting. I've read it several times now, and I love it. There's some very interesting information in this book, I recommend anyone who loves fairies and fairy mythology to read this book.

Fascinating! Beautiful illustrations and a lovely keepsake too! My niece loves me to read from this book and look at the enchanting illustrations inside! Very happy with my purchase!

Great book

Ein wunderschönes Buch für Jung und Alt mit vielen Informationen zu Feen aus aller Welt. Konnte nicht mehr aufhören zu lesen, nachdem ich einmal damit angefangen habe. Bezaubernde Illustrationen, die einen wahrhaft verzaubern, geben dem Leser dass Gefühl etwas sehr kostbares in den Händen zu halten. Kann es herzlich für Feeninteressierte weiterempfehlen!
