For a £20 price range these earphones offer a £50 quality in comparison to most earphones on the market
I would be cynical and drop a star because the 'bass is EQ'd a little too high', but that would only be a feasable action if the headphones cost >£50. These headphones are aimed at the typical music listener that wants a bit more of a professional sound quality when listening to their music on the go.The verdict: As a musician, audio engineer and electronic music producer, I expect a high quality level sound at home, in the studio AND on the go. Although on the go I refuse to carry around my £120 pair of AKG K272 MKIIs, the answer is clear; I need something relatively cheap (£20 is cheap if you are a producer), comfortable, and good quality. These headphones are perfect. BRILLIANT noise cancellation for use on the bus to work / college. You won't hear anyone's conversations, you won't hear the bus whirring, and you can live without fear of anyone hearing your barbie girl theme song blasting out of your earphones. The noise containment and cancellation is brilliant. Bad news last I guess: As a music producer I expect a 'flat EQ', what this means in short is that none of the frequencies are boosted; but what you find in most consumer headphones / earphones is that they boost the bass and the highs to make them sound 'more professional' and to cover up the fact that the mids aren't very precise and clear as they are the hardest to replicate. The bass is mostly just mud, and the highs are mostly just 'zing'; we pick them up the least precisely so they boost them. On these headphones the highs and mids are EXTREMELY precise for the £20 pricerange; I see no need to boost the bass at all. The bass has been boosted but the highs remain clear and precise as normal. In fact they boosted the bass very expertly, however I would prefer it otherwise.TL;DR: I would spend as much as £35 on these earphones and will definitely buy sennheiser earphones again for casual on-the-go listening if not for the rest of my life (provided I don't find a better manufacturer for earphones, which I doubt I will). If the bass wasn't boosted I would spend maybe £45-50 on these earphones.10/10 for the price range, I'd offer less because they aren't the best earphones ever, but you have to judge relative to the price range right? In which case they SMASH EVERYTHING TO THE FLOOR BUY THESE HEADPHONES I'M USING THEM RIGHT NOW WORTH EVERY PENNY I SPENT GOGOGO

Fantastic Quality that will last you years.
It is amazing how Sennheiser managed to create such great earphones, for such a low price. With deep bass, clear mid-tones and crisp highs, these earphones bring out the best in your music.I once compared them to my friends' Bowers & Wilkins earphones, having one of his in one ear, and one of mine in the other. We both agreed there was no difference in the quality of sound. Difference was, that he paid £100 for his Bowers & Wilkins.I have not tried the slightly more expensive models by Sennheiser, but comparing these to other high-end earphones, these are truly fantastic.I had them for 2 years, and never had problems, (except I lost them). No dodgy cables even after having them for a while. To sum up here are the highlighted pro's and cons of these earphones.Pros:Truly fantastic clear and crisp audioGreat Value for moneyDifferent sized ear buds included for large and small ear canalsLong-LastingCons:No in-line mic or audio control

There's a Studio in my Ears!
Ok, that may be a bit of an overstatement, but I'm not as far off as you may think. This review will combine my personal and my very-very good friend's opinion about the CX200 Street II. This model was launched sometime in 2009. That's when she got them, and since then she has been a happy and satisfied owner of these earphones. Being now in 2014, that means she has used them for 5 long years, which if you ask me, says a lot about quality design, materials and all in all, about durability. Seeing how happy she was with them, prompted me to get a pair for myself as well, since my not so old Sony earphones did not survive the washing machine and the tumble dryer.Like everything, I got these on Amazon, for a not so low price of £25. Compared to the pair of Sony I got for £8, that's a whole lot of £££! But, I know Sennheiser products to be of good quality, and most of all, the sound rarely disappoints, so what the heck, let's give it a try. Worst case scenario, I send it back to Amazon for a full refund. But these did not go back. The reasons are as follows...Packaging for the first time in my life on such a small product was not the typical melted together plastic box, but only half plastic, half cardboard which made this super easy to rip open. Packaging that does not make me go mad, makes me happy. Inside, alongside the earphones you will find two extra pairs of ear-buds in case the default ones would prove to be too small or too big. They are very easily replaceable. The earphones themselves, design-wise are nothing to write home about, they're just fine, although Sennheiser seem to think that pinched rear-side is downright revolutionary and it's supposed to "help" you put them in and out of your ears, I for one do not see it as a plus. Flat would have been just as good for me, and I am certain 99% of the owners would agree. But they do look different, and if that's what they were really going for, then they certainly nailed it. The entire set is mostly black, except for the "pinched" bits, the earphone side cable endings and the "Y" L/R channel splitter, which are mid level grey. At the cord's - which is just the right length and cable thickness - very end you'll find the standard stereo jack which is gold plated for superior sound quality which is...Quite good. Not perfect, or at least not for my very sensitive ears, and I do feel that a tiny bit of extra bass would have made me even happier, however, that also means this pair of earphones provides a well-balanced sound, where everything from low to high is well represented. Given the fact that these go into your ear-canal, depending on which ear-bud you are using the level of passive background noise attenuation can be from good to surprisingly good, which means your music will be a very intimate and very enjoyable experience. Needless to say, the ear-buds are very comfortable and if you're using the right size, they will not fall out of your ear. It's probably worth mentioning that these earphones are also very loud, compared to many others I had, and what's even more surprising is that they suck less power out of my phone than my previous Sony used to.So, should you get them? Well, no matter how happy me and my friend are with these earphones it's hard to say whether it's what you need or not. They're certainly not cheap and if you have the time and the opportunity to stick a few more pairs into your ear and test them, you might find cheaper ones out there offering pretty much the same sound quality, however, I'm not sure about durability. 5 years and counting, is hard to beat.

Inaspettate!

Survived a trip through the washing machine; A++++
I bought these headphones to replace my set of "Bedphones" which broke after a few months for no reason. I use a set of Sennheiser over-the-ear headphones at work, and originally selected them because of their good reviews on durability. I am hard on headphones apparently, and I got sick and tired of spending money to replace them once a year or more. My Sennheisers have held up for close to 5 years now with no problems, with daily, hours-long use. As a brand, they have won me over.So I wanted a set of headphones to use when going to sleep. I listen to music or videos or audiobooks often to lull myself to sleep, and needed a set of phones that would be comfortable in/on my ears as I lay on a pillow. Normally I don't care for earbuds, as most every pair I've ever worn get uncomfortable within a few minutes. But these had great reviews, and given my previous experience with Sennheiser, I decided to take a chance. I'm so glad I did. They fit perfectly, with little poly-rubber caps that slide comfortably into your ear. They are incredibly light and unobtrusive and after a few minutes you forget you even have them on. I can lie on my side with one ear pressing into the pillow with the headphones in and not feel a thing. I have fallen asleep almost every night for the past several months with these headphones in my ears. They sound great too. They pack a lot of bass for earbuds. Moreover, the rubber earpieces fill your whole ear and are great at blocking out external sound. They are not noise-canceling, but for earbuds they do a great job at isolating your hearing to what's coming out of the headphones only. If you're looking for earbuds that leave room for you to hear the world around you while you've got them in, these are NOT for you. For my purposes though, they are perfect. But the best and most astonishing part of these headphones is their durability. Because I use them to help me sleep, I often end up with them smooshed under my head or tangled in my arms during the night. I frequently drop them over the side of the bed as well when I sleepily set my phone on the end table. But most amazing of all is that I accidentally put them into the washing machine with a load of laundry. They had gotten wrapped up under a sheet and I scooped up the bedding without realizing they were there, and dropped it all into the washer. I didn't find out until I moved the laundry over to the dryer. I thought, "Well, so much for those. Shame, too, because I liked them a lot." I let them dry out, and then, on a whim, plugged them into my phone. They worked perfectly, and still do to this day, months later. That's quality. That's what you get when you buy Sennheiser. They will be my only choice for headphones from here on out, although given the durability and longevity of their products, I may not ever need to buy more!
