Good read
I love it. All of the characters are well developed and interesting. I also like how the power system is put together.

Great read. Too short. Pacing problems
Let my start by saying I love this series. One of the things I have consistently liked about it is the steady progression Lindon makes in progressing his power. The work he puts in is felt by the reader and at the end of Blackflame I was looking forward to seeing how Lindon would continue to push in order to surprise Jai Long at the duel. I was disappointed that this book does not have any of this. It practically skips the remaining time between the end of Blackflame and the beginning of the duel.I enjoyed reading through the story and it certainly packs a lot of action, but I feel like the times of reflection that helped the pacing for the previous story were largely missing. This book focuses on action and a crisis, and while these are probably necessary to the plot, it was a whole lot all at once without much space for the reader to absorb it. Considering that it's only been about 5 months since the last book released I can't really fault the story for feeling short, but as a standalone novel this feels short. One of the things I've always liked about Will's writing is that he doesn't bog down his story with unnecessary details, his descriptions convey enough to be interesting but don't wallow in the setting to the point that I'm bored. It feels like he gave the plot this same treatment and I don't think it works as well on the plot as it does on his scenes. What I've said is mostly negative but I largely enjoyed the book, those were my biggest complaints. At the end of the day if you've read through the series up to this point you should definitely buy the book, but be prepared going in for it to feel shorter than the previous installment.

Absolutely amazing
It's absolutely another amazing story in a spectacular book series. I can't wait to read the next book and continue this great story.

The Duel and a Dreadgod
Another excellent entry in the Cradle series.Jai Daishou is making trouble for Eithan, which means trouble for Lindon. Jai being alive causes a serious problem as he becomes increasingly desperate for a way to hurt Eithan, personally.Great world building in this novel.SPOILERS BELOW***************************************Jai Daishou grabs a piece of treasure from "the labyrinth" and just having the door open was enough to stir a Dreadgod, the Bleeding Phoenix, which is related to the red (not) rope Yerrin has. He picks up the Archstone and pulls it out during the duel between Lindon and Jai Long, right after Jai Long severs Lindon's right arm (winning the duel).Eithan kills Jai Daishou (for keeps this time), then is summoned to the emperor because anytime someone breaches the labyrinth, bad things can happen. Which they do.During the ensuing chaos, Lindon gets a new arm, made with the Ancestor's Spear that was such a big deal in the last 2 novels. Yerrin defeats her parasite and now controls her Blood Shadow. We meet a new friend, Akura Mercy, who is from the larger Empire. And finally learn about Eithan's marble, which shows a message to Lindon and Yerrin.Time for the next book!

4 May Call Me Tiny Scissors Stars
Skysworn is the fourth book in the Cradle series by Will Wight. To finally have the answers to Eithan's machinations, and at least one of Ozriel's contingencies is wonderful. The vision his void marble shares with Lindon, and the reader alike, was devastatingly moving. That their plans truly encompass the broad strokes of Lindon's as well, and seem to tie into Suriel's influence on his life is simple brilliance.I'm excited to decipher Akura Mercy's part to play, and how she will influence the group. Her story must be fascinating, as even the abilities she's shown thus far capture my interest. But her potential in joining the main squad of our cast makes me wonder which other underdogs or black sheep of powerful sects will come out of the woodwork as they progress towards ascension. Most assuredly, we stumble across the path of Jai Long and Jai Chen again... I hope. The plot arc in this book is what really throws me for a loop, in my rating. Makiel's interference defies logic. They go on and on about the importance of Iteration 110, the Cradle, and then he puts events into motion that wake slumbering destruction. How will this world fare when they've either been conquered, or conquer themselves?Honestly though, I find myself most concerned over the Skysworn Underlord. He seems at a touch mad, how he crafted this entire nefarious plot based solely on personal grudge and is going to use it to add validity and Empire sanction to his plot against our band of aspiring ascenders.

This is getting good!
Not to say it was anything less in the previous books, but like a Bloodforged body, you need a solid foundation. I am invested in the journey to include the new characters introduced in this installment. I'm beyond invested in where this journey leads. Jumping in with both feet!

Death or incapacitated
Another clan plays a big role in volume 4, the Skysworn. In my brain, they are equivalent to the military force for the Emperor. Solidly fierce to their rules and regulations, the Underlord delivers an amazing battle scene trying to keep the under lords in line. Hence, the supporting character spotlight falls on the leader of the Skysworn, Naru Gwen. Most naturally, there is layer upon layer of other action packed scenarios in thi volume. Pride and honor is utmost to these clans, so a distraught Overlord decides to tempt mass destruction, our “unsouled” MC aids in healing the unhealable, and our group of budding heroes go through yet another trial to join forces with the Skysworn in an attempt to save everyone from the dangers unleashed. It’s life or death or not at all. This tale is epic! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.

There’s a lot packed into this book
So first off, I’ve got to say that this begins with one of my favourite chapters, maybe ever. It’s funny, well constructed and leads perfectly into the rest of the novel. And what a novel it is. Lindon has spent the past year training to fight Jai Long, learning a new destructive path in the process. Will he succeed? This is a book that packs a lot into it. While the initial focus is the duel it also deals a lot with the consequences of it. The humour and the action that by this time you’ve come to expect are all there. There’s also more nice character moments and the world is expanded even more. It’s still a short book, there’s only 285 pages according to my Kindle, but every page is well utilised.By this point, if you’re like me, you’re probably fully on board at this point and this review will matter little. So if you’re even slightly wavering I’ll just say, this book continues the series you’ve come to expect.

Awful
Plot is too forced. It's hard to follow a story with no consistency. The dude can restore wounds like a superhuman but can't reattach a lost limb? That's possible even in real life. The first book promised a big world with interesting characters, but I guess it's not worth it.

This is my third re-read
And still, I enjoy it. I rarely read a book more than once, but Wight's writing is compelling and fun and makes me desire more and more. It is not only for the action, it is the personality of the characters and the weaving of the stories that make Wight one of the best Fantasy authors for me. If you usually side with the Underdogs, if you like to be entertained, and thrilled, and even surprised by a tale, I can only recommend you this series.

Amazing!!
The story is in phase two now, which was quite expected. But the thing is it's standing on to the expectations. Moments you feel like, the plot may get little tedious but this author has something exciting ready to strike, which will amaze you. It's the best book in the series till now.

I will recomend this series.
