Okay light, not a lot of LED options for this type of socket yet.
Light quality is fine. They are a 'white' light, almost identical to a white fluorescent tube bulb. My preference would be for a slightly warmer light, but nothing inherently wrong with the light output from this light.lIn our fixtures they put out the same amount of light as the 40w G9 Halogens they replaced (Osram, 490 lumens). I'd take the 700 lumens advertised with a grain of salt, although perhaps more light would be apparent in a different fixture.Don't even try to install with a dimmer in the circuit. We had a third 'dimmer' switch around a corner that I didn't know about. The initial install resulted in slowly flickering lights. I went ahead and replaced our dimmer with a three way switch, after that they worked fine.Shipping took a few weeks. Keep this in mind, these lights are shipped from China.

Good replacement for hot halogen bulbs, but longevity is in question.
I bought this LED to replace a 50W halogen bulb in a kitchen light fixture. I would say it has about 75-80% of the brightness, but puts out a nice warm light and a ton less heat, which is the main reason for replacement. The issue I had, is the 1st one died after 4 months. I have yet to find another one with similar specs, so I purchased another one, as the price is very reasonable as well. It has been going for almost the same 4 months. I will adjust my review accordingly when we see how this one lasts.

Waste of money. One of three failed after a month
Update 2014-11-29: I found better replacements: FACTOP LED Corn Bulb 85-265V G9 7W 36x5050 SMD 700-750LM 2700-3200K Warm White Light  All three are the same color, they run cooler, they've been in for 6 months without any problems, they all fit properly in the sockets.Update 2014-05-24: would lower to negative stars if possible - a second one burnt out, this time with a loud electrical arcing sound. These things could be a fire hazard, it's impossible to tell but given that 2 out 3 weren't right to start with and now 2 out of 3 have failed, I wouldn't trust them at all. I'm replacing with halogen until I can get some other LED bulbs for the fixtures.Update 2014-04-28: Lowered to one star. One of them burned out. It was the one that was the odd color - more white than the others two.Apparently they have no quality control. Waste of money as they ship from China so return shipping isn't an option.I bought three of them for pendant lights in the kitchen. They're pretty small - still bigger than halogen bulbs but not nearly the size of the some of the LEDs out there. There are two problems that seem to indicate quality control issues. One of the lights is significantly whiter than the other two. The bulbs look the same externally but one of them is much closer to pure white than the other two. The other problem is that one of them isn't assembled quite right, the base is crooked and it doesn't plug in securely. I'm going to have to tweak the connector with pliers to try and make it fit tighter as a good hard rap on the outside of the light fixture will cause the bulb to fall out.Oh and it's not really a con but they do ship directly from China, so be prepared to wait a couple of weeks for them.It is really nice not feel the heat from the halogen bulbs! These will make a big difference in kitchen temps come summertime.Given the price, I'd say they're a decent value. I'd buy them again, but I do hope they get their quality control tightened up so that they're all the same brightness/color. It's annoying to see that one almost white globe and the other two a nice mellow shade of yellow.

Great LED
They work just as I had hoped. They were barely twice as large as the standard C9 bulb, but compared to other LEDs of this type, that's tiny. I used them in a bathroom light fixture that needed 4 bulbs. While they are slightly less bright than the incandescent they replaced, the difference is barely noticeable. My house has crappy wiring loads on limited circuit breaker options, so any LED is helpful.

Color and brightness are good, but first failure in 4.5 months. LEDs should last years
Ordered three, two to install and one spare for the half bathroom fixture above the mirror.Color and brightness are good, almost like the 45 watt halogens they replaced (a little dimmer).Delivered Wednesday, March 5, 2014, two installedFirst failure Wednesday, July 23, 2014Maybe it's related to cooling, the bottom of the glass is open. The LED bulbs should last many years, not just many months.Update - second failure 17 Oct 2014 (lowered rating to 2 stars)I like the size, color, and brightness, but they are not lasting as long as the old halogen bulbs. When my spare of these bulbs are used up I'll go back to the 45 watt halogens until a reliable LED solution in this form factor is available.

kind of dim
When compared to the 40-watt G9 halogen bulb, these are about 50% as bright. Was hoping for better brightness. Color looks good.

Three Stars
Was not dim-able. Light began to turn on and off. Was very blue in color.

WTB 40W LED replacement ;)
Bought two... one was lasted 3 mins then burned out. The other is still functional but was such a strange color (warm and slightly green) that I returned both. Sadly there isn't anything else available in this G9 base that is a true equivalent for a 40W+ Halogen. This was my last hope :(
