I'm writing this review because I'm forever grateful I was able to purchase this expensive part, for 20% of the original price, and install it by myself. The car door wouldn't shut anymore, and my car was well past it's yearly inspection date. To pass inspection, the door needed to close. I NEEDED to buy this part, and install it for as cheap as possible, because this was a financially difficult time for me.I searched the internet, high and low, for the cheapest compatible Volkswagen door lock actuator. I was very hesitant, and unsure when purchasing this part. I never buy anything less then OEM, and at that time, as I said before, I was broke. I could not afford the price of the original OEM part, nor the labor to have it installed.When I received the part, and began installation, I was expecting there to be a multitude of issues, especially incompatibility. I finished the installation in a day. To my surprise, everything fit perfect. There were no compatibility issues, keyless entry issues, locking/unlocking issues, etc. I was baffled. I spent $45.29 total. No labor.It's been a year since I bought, and installed this part. It still works perfect. (KNOCK ON WOOD!)Thank you, and have a wonderful day!

Fixed the door not locking issue on my daughters 2103 vw beetle. Had to buy triple square bit to remove old latch assembly. Price was fantastic compared to stock.

While it was a pain to access this one was a perfect fit for my 2013 Jetta. Door now latches like new. Only been on for a month but is working great.

I was having an issue where the driver side front door would only unlock some times. After researching the issue on the web, it appeared that this part was failing. The part was significantly less expensive than buying it from VW, and it works just fine.I cannot speak to the long term reliability since I've only had it for a couple of months, but so far it is working perfectly.I highly recommend watching a video on how to do this repair. It wasn't all that hard, but there are a couple of fiddly bits and it was helpful to have the video to walk me through it.

Fits like factory, but only lasted a few months. I tried to take it apart and clean the sensors with no luck. Now I will be reluncantly going to the dealership to buy the crappy expensive semi-temporary part. For me, when this part most recently failed, the doors will not lock, the gauges will display driver door open. In this condition you cannot lock the doors and an alarm will sound while driving. You can take the door apart and unplug the actuator, this will allow the doors to lock with the fob and in car buttons, except the drivers door, you will need to manually lock it from the outside with the key, perfect for Arizona 110 degree wheather with my 2 small kids, makes things easy.

Bought this to replace the broken one for my drives door of my 2012 Golf R. It fit perfectly and appears to be functioning properly. Great price for a quality part compared to the cost from VW.

I can confirm that this will fit 2010-2014 GTI MK6. The part itself is easy to install but the hard part is removing the inner door panel to get access to the door lock actuator. I have a 4-door and the inner panel is all one piece, while the 2 door GTI have a separate access window to the door lock actuator. This part though is a direct replacement. Great product especially for the price.

Followed videos online on how to do this and it worked like a charm. Door would not unlock from the outside even when the key fob activated the locks. After about 30 mins of installation, this one works great.
