This supports my 4 Meter wooden gate, mighty poor instructions.
What is sheerness? I'd give it a rating if I knew. We needed to drill holes for machine bolts through the wooden gate ends. The bolts supplied were to short for my gate posts, perhaps they should be tailored to each project? So one hour to get longer bolts. I foolishly had read the comments on Amazon about the wheel installation and took out the split pin and dissembled the spring so that the bolts would connect through the gate post. Not a good idea. So we had to reassemble the whole thing. Then just put the nuts directly behind the spring. I now know more about gate wheels. This took two hours. Perhaps better directions would be a good idea. The next time it won't take three of us three hours to install.

GREAT
It does what it says

OK but requires some fettling
Looks generally sturdy and like it will last. Bolts provided were too short so I had to use my own - if you need a heavy duty wheel you're unlikely to have a wafer thin gate, right? Wheel does not move freely, I have liberally applied WD40 but I think it should have been well greased in the factory rather than requiring me to try and get into the bearings with a spray.

Tough wheel and spring
Tough wheel and spring. Supplied axle was too thin and was threaded. Replaced with 14mm unthreaded (100mm long) bolt.

Not quite the quality i thought it might be.
Looks great but once you have a really close look you will notice that the centre pivot bolt is not long enough and does not reach the nyloc of the nut.The wheel runs on the bolt as the pivot, the bolt is a standard M10 bolt but the wheel hole is about 16mm in diameter so the wheel really just flaps around.I have solved this by sleeving with some plastic 15mm water pipe. This now is far better and fit for purpose, and leaving it a little longer than the wheel sleeve is wide provides the wheel much more free running.

poor finish
this spring loaded gate roller was designed okay, but the quality was poor, the hole in the wheel was much larger that the fixing bolt thus causing wheel wobble had to fit steel bushes to take up slack .The assy was locked solid due to the square support bar was very tight in the bracket holes had to strip the unit and file out the square holes till the bar was a sliding fit ,then re assemble the wheel could now move up and down as it was supposed to

Sub standard product
Unless you have some engineering know how, do not buy this product. The axle bolt is too short. So much so that the nylon part of the lock nut does not engage the bolt threads. The axle bolt diameter does not match that of the wheel. In simple terms, the diameter of the hole through the wheel is much larger ( probably 2 sizes), than the axle bolt diameter. I had to make and fit bushes to insert into the wheel so that the wheel rotates smoothly. The option would have been to buy another wheel. Finally the bracket angles are not 90 degrees, causing the shaft to bind as it moves through the bracket. Could be such a great product if manufactured with some care.
