very informative and well-organized
I've never been much of a meat eater with the exception of an occasional burger and turkey on Thanksgiving. I prefer pasta dishes, soups and every type of veggie. I often thought it would be easy for me to become a vegetarian but, I just never took the plunge.I borrowed this book from the library and was intrigued after listening to the first few chapters on audio. So I decided to order the print edition realizing that there was lots of info I'd like to highlight and refer back to afterward. The book is written by the vegan grandson of the founder of Baskin Robbins ice cream. So much of what he writes just made sense and the book has also been promoted by people like: Dr. Dean Ornish, Dr. Mark Hyman, Paul McCartney and several others. If you are interested in healing your body, losing extra weight and freeing yourself of toxic foods this book provides some easy enough to follow guidelines. The book is divided into (4) parts -- 1) Detoxify, 2) Nourish, 3) Gather and 4) Transform.**Detoxify - discusses what foods to eliminate (think all processed foods) from our diet and our shelves.**Nourish - discusses how to go about fueling our bodies to beat breast cancer and heal your gut by focusing on healthy super foods.**Gather - discusses the social aspects of food and how lonely people are often negatively impacted by poor food choices as opposed to people who are socially involved.Transform - educates us as to how to be part of the solution by choosing organic foods and making **our food choices cruelty free.I the book was well-organized with great ideas for changing your eating habits bit by bit. I learned several interesting things and, I was surprised to learn that eating a high-protein after age 50 just might contribute to cancer and, how eating lots of greens can ward off dementia. The book does not promote a specific diet, it's not preachy and it includes some pretty easy and delicious sounding recipes as well. I really liked this book a lot and, I have already taken steps to purge my pantry and restock it with healthier alternatives as I get ready for beginning the 31-day challenge.4.5/5 stars

Great authentic information to feed your heart and soul
I couldn't wait to get this book. I am part of Food Revolution.com. I love the advice and the love that Ocean puts forth sharing his knowledge and wisdom. I also love listening to him on the different summits that I am a part of. It's amazing hearing him speak and feeling his love burst through wanting people to get healthy in all areas. Thinking about where your food come from, GMO /NON GMO, etc. He has helped me a lot with his wisdom and humor. It's funny when my son James sends me an article on Instagram and it comes from Food Revolution. I say I already know this, maybe you should just sign up... hahahahaha. But I'm guilty on that end too, I send him things that Ocean says as well and we try to encorporate that in our lifestyle. We became Pescatarians a few years ago. But lately more vegetarians. Ocean's knowledge truly have helped me on my journey. Hopefully he will come here to Pittsburgh one day. We have a wonderful Convention center right downtown 😁 it's easy to get to , with many hotels within walking distance💓💓 I just love Ocean and his dad, one day I would love to give them a wonderful hug of thanks💓💓

Well written, heart warming and informative
LOVE this book! Ocean is down-to-earth, not preachy, and shares from his own life experiences. I gave it as a gift to a friend and she said it was her best gift EVER! I'll be giving it as gifts to others also. Even if someone is not trying to become vegan, it's great to explain both the health and environmental aspects of healthy eating - perhaps it'll help people to add healthier foods to their plate and they'll benefit because of it.

A lot of common knowledge, some good recipes.
The book was well written, however if you’ve been into nutrition for awhile, it is mostly stuff you know already. I did get a few good vegan recipes out of it.

Damaged Refurbished Book.
The back jacket is torn and repaired by tapping in two places which looks ugly with dirt marks, tapping is done shabbily, there is a pen mark also. How such repaired-refurbished book is forwarded to me ?Secondly, mention in the description that this is a large print book so that those who don’t need large print can opt out.Never expected this from Cloudtail.Dr. Ramesh Shah

Vegan guide to thriving.
I love this book, call it the guidebook to the wonders of being vegan! It has so much information. There are times when going vegan can be confusing. You kind of need someone to guide you through the rough spots and Ocean, the author is that person. I could spend days listening to him but do spend my nights reading him. He is careful, factually correct, he is caring, Alzheimer's, cancer, truth in context. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Amazing book
This book has so many useful information! Ocean Robins is inspiring a whole generation of food aware people and he's one of my favorite leaders in doing so. If you care about your health, which without any doubt has so much to do with what you eat, then this is a book you should read!

Extremely disappointed
Poorly presented. Mostly recycled ideas. Waste of money. Would not recommend.
