best tick remover on the market
I am a professional dog walker in a VERY high deer-tick part of the country. We walk dogs in the woods daily, and have to deal with endless ticks. Every single person on my staff must carry one of these (convenient to do, given the little hole at the top, where we can add it on to our key chains). These are safe and easy to use and don't hurt the dog - and gets the head out EVERY time. I can't recommend this product highly enough. I have purchased over 20 of these and the original one I bought, almost 9 years ago, still works just fine (I buy a lot for my clients and staff, plus have them stashed all over my house).

Excellent must have tool
If you have a dog who trails in the woods with you I would suggest this tool. Not just for dog use, but for humans as well. I really like the product but I wish it wasn't made of cheap plastic as it wears off easily and shows off typical plastic wearing in the outside of the half sphere. My dog is treated for ticks but still will get once in a while a tick immune to the tick treatment this is why you should have one. It is also very good for removal of other type of skin hangings such scabs, small pimples or thorns your dog might get.

OK for BIG TICKS, USELESS for SMALL or NEW ONES
OK for BIG TICKS, USELESS for SMALL or NEW ONES. I really wanted this to work and tried hard to make it. Unfortunately, no matter how gently I tried to slide it under and forward, it WOULD NOT GRASP THE TICK. IT DOES NOT WORK ON TICKS THAT ARE SMALL OR HAVEN'T YET SWELLED. I'm not just referring to tiny deer ticks, I am talking about the average wood tick too. Every tick I have tried it on that was not engorged, approx 10, just slipped right over it. As I like to remove the ticks before they hit the dangerous 24 hour mark - where lyme disease can set it - I do not find this tool helpful. Furthermore, using it repeatedly just aggravated the area and made the experience more stressful to both me and my dogs. If this tool could be made with metal and a precise and tiny slit, it could work well even on small ticks, but as is now, it is not going to do the job. Also, I bought 3 of these - hoping to have one in house, car, and purse, and none worked, so I didn't just get one lemon. If you don't mind waiting till the tick enlarges, this might be for you, but if you want to catch them sooner, this tool is not going to do it.

Tick Remover
I ordered this after a friend recommended. If ind it works better than the tweezers I had previously purchased. Is more difficult if the tick is still flat but still works.

I bought this as part of my pet emergency kit. At the time, we had flooding and started thinking what if we needed to evacuate or had an emergency- this seemed like a good addition to my kit.

Perfect
I actually use an O'Tom Tick Twister but these work just as well - AFAIC, this is the ONLY way to remove a tick -
