This is a beautiful book. It brought me back to the lands where I spent the better part of my school life. The mountains have always been in my blood, and I feel free when I am there.The collection of writings in this book inspired me to buy a few of the books from which, the excerpts have been taken.Apart from that, the writings bring back memories of times gone by; of nature respected, and now ravaged.Yet, the mystique of the Himalayas remain eternal, and this has been spirit captured in this magnificent book

Ultimate collection of essays written by people from diverse fields including saints, philosophers, adventurers and writers. It is the kind of book one can spend many a lonely evening with, reading one essay at a time, over coffee or inside the blanket, let the words sink in, then close the book, and ruminate on the deeper meaning with eyes closed...or simply relish the writing. A perfect "armchair travel" read for those who long to go to the Himalayas but are prevented from doing so due to lack of time or resources. The print quality is also great and the light weight of the book makes it seem like a treasure (at least for book lovers). Ruskin Bond and Namita Gokhale need to be congratulated over this compilation!

It looks great on my shelf because of the colour. I will read it someday but until that day, this book will convince visitors in my home that I'm well read.

I really don't know how this book was prepared for Kindle but it had many things wrong with it. For one, the words in too many places run together (e.g., I followed thegirlhome). It makes reading very annoying.On the positive side, it introduced me to many authors whose writings I loved. It prompted me to get their books too.

The package was received in good condition. Print is great.I am absolutely enjoying the collections of stories in this book. It serves your all moods as you switch between the sections. The book will take you deep into the mysteries of the Himalayas and the lives of people who have been lucky to live their magic.
