This book was seriously lacking an emotional connection, I'd hoped for so much more.
I’m going to keep this short since this book didn’t work for me in the big picture. There were some things I liked; I thought the suspense storyline was fascinating, and I wanted to know what happened enough to stick with the book even while I wasn’t buying into much else.My biggest issue with One Tough Cowboy was the excessive and repetitive sex scenes. They got so redundant that I started skimming them for anything important that may have been moving Samantha and Hunter’s relationship forward, to no avail. It seemed, to me at least, that the author was far too focused on their sexual relationship and forgot to develop their emotional relationship in any way. They couldn’t be in a room together without being all over one another, to the detriment of letting the reader know why they cared for one another beyond have sex.Secondly, for a traditionally published book, I found the editorial issues in this book to be glaring – even to my untrained eye. There was a lot of who/that confusion, various typos and misused words, and there was one point where an entire sentence was repeated. I was less than impressed with all of it.On the plus side, the investigation and implications of it were riveting. I needed to finish the book, even if it didn’t work as a romance for me, so I could find out what was happening in Hunter’s county. I would have loved to see the end be a little more fleshed out – it felt awfully rushed and unrealistic in regards to what Samantha had experienced - and have a little more closure, since I’m not sure I can handle continuing this series, but I did understand that storyline was left a little open-ended since One Tough Cowboy is the beginning of a series.

Romance & Crime
This is my first book by both of these authors so I am not familiar with either of their writing styles so I was not sure what to expect.I think the overall storyline was well developed and plotted out well. As for the main characters I think that there could have been a little more of their past history given since childhood. It was very brief. In addition, it seemed to me that the two characters rushed into a romantic relationship a little two fast even though there was connection between them. That might have been what the authors wanted but seemed awkward to me at times.I really did enjoy the murder mystery crime aspect of the book that they added to this romance book from start to finish of the book that the reader gets to experience. I think that is something unique to this book that not alot of authors have in addition to the normal romance.I am definitely interested to see what the next book in this series has in store because there was alot that they had in this story it will be interesting to see what they will do to top it.

Loved the story but.....
I have enjoyed just about every book by Lora Leigh I have found including this one but this time I just could not not take the passive -aggressive relationship by Sam. The wishy washy BS about how the relationship had to stop but in the next breath she was already naked and panting again. I loved the story except for this unnecessary added drama. It's flat out annoying and typical with at least one character in every one of her books. I just could not hold back my irritation this time. If not for this it would have been a five star read. I read for enjoyment. If I'm looking to be annoyed I'll hang out with my son and his friends or my husband and his workout buddies. Sorry Ms. Leigh but I cannot believe I am the only reader to notice this.

Great debut to Moving Violations series
All I can say is wow! What a great debut to the Moving Violations series with captivating characters you want to root for and a fast-paced story that kept me entertained and intrigued from beginning to end and turning the pages as fast as I could to see what would happen. I was totally mesmerized by the nail-biting, heart-pounding suspense and skin-scorching intimacy. I loved the undeniable chemistry between Sheriff Hunter Steele and Samantha Ryder, a Detroit cop who returns to her hometown of Deerhaven, California after her aunt dies unexpectedly. This book is a must-read for anyone who enjoys a well-crafted, suspenseful romance. I received an advance reader copy from the publisher via NetGalley and this is my voluntary review. I liked the book so much, I purchased a copy for my keeper library.

Amazing
One Tough Cowboy is an amazing read. I love the hot cowboy sheriff and the suspense that follows through out this read. You are in for a treat with this one. Hunter and Samantha couldn't be more perfect for each other. They will burn your pages as they work together to solve what is going down in their town. Samantha is one little firecracker. Not only is she a cop but she doesn't take crap from the other men. Hunter what can I say I love his alpha side. I love how just does everything he can to make Samantha his. I for one can't wait for more to come in this series. This is an amazing read that I couldn't put down.

Kind of the same... but different...
I enjoyed One Tough Cowboy...Because one of the authors is Lora Leigh. Ms. Leigh is an automatic one click for me no matter what the story. She's that good in my opinion. As to the story, I enjoyed it for the most part.. but to me it was kinda obvious that two people had written it. I know Lora Leigh's writing style... a cock is a cock. I don't recall in any of her books of pulling back and calling a cock a penis, that's just to sissified. Just isn't her style.. the story itself was pretty much a good read and definitely has murder and suspicious behavior, as well as a load of other surprises. I will DEFINITELY be reading the others in this series.

Buyer's remorse
I really should stop buying books written by Lora Leigh since either there is a ghost writer and the collaboration is mainly written by someone else. Her books used to be amazing and this one was just another that left me with buyer's remorse. 2/3 of the book is just sex writing and not even just once, we have to read the story about repeated events. Not much to this story other than them having sex. I enjoy that as much as the next person but there just wasn't anything left to this book if you took that out. Sorry, I really wish I could say better. I used to really love her series.
