Clever idea, that of a puzzle chess board that fits together nicely. Pieces are a nice design. Great value for money. Might want some fine grit sand paper handy in case board pieces fit too tight; you don't want to use excessive force. Mine were just right. I assembled my board easily using the algebraic borders as the assembly guide, and then immediately analyzed 2 tournament games.

The idea of this set is very good. However the board is tough to assemble. I broke the central puzzle piece trying to jam it together, now a small crack remains. The bishops came strangely filled in (see pic). I wouldn't bring this board outdoors; I would rather keep it clean, as the puzzle piece bottoms are bare wood. Reason I give it 5 stars is, I knew right away that this was the set I had always wanted for the price. Something about the design is old-fashioned, and I think using this set will help me improve in chess the way I want to.
