Wonderful, Helpful Book
This book really taught me how to layout my journal pages in an attractive fashion. I also found a lot of ideas and inspiration in the author’s text.

I love this book!
I purchased this book after learning the basics of watercolor painting. After reading through the entire book I started making my first sketch journal. I returned from vacation with several fun photos and memories to refer to. I'm new to sketching, so this part was harder for me. But I took it slowly, adding pencil sketches, then ink using Micron pens. Next, I added some journaling about my vacation and finished using watercolor and Tombo water-soluble markers for shading. It was a blast! I added a few more pages about my vacation and am currently working on pages about my spring garden. This is addictive! Samantha's book is inspirational and contains a ton of examples and advice. I loved this book so much that I recently purchased her book, Draw Your World.I likely won't be sketch journaling like a daily diary, but more to record snippets of my experiences and use photos I've taken as references to compose them into pages. I'm fairly slow at this point so trying to keep up with a daily complete page would turn it into work for me and I want to keep it light and fun.Samantha, your books are wonderful! I can tell this is a new hobby for me that won't fade over time.

Beautiful artwork
This is a great book, full of useful advice about keeping a visual journal of your daily life. The author's journal pages are beautiful and make me wish I could "do that."As someone who can't (yet) "do that," I was encouraged by several references about how it's fine to use stick figures if you can't draw people, etc. I wish the author had included a chapter showing some of her own less-than-perfect work. Please let us see how your own ability to draw, paint, compose a page, progressed and improved. Page after page of perfect artwork is more daunting than inspiring. I'd love to see a satisfying journal page showing stick figures.I also have to add that there is a level of glamor here that left me feeling envious. Many of the sample pages refer to trips to museums, coffee shops and specialty food stores, skiing trips, dinners at restaurants that sound fascinating. I had to give myself a very serious reminder that no one's life consists of only those things, everyone has days when the whole family is sick and the highlight is that everyone made it to the bathroom in time. I wish there had been some pages about those days, too.

Absolutely beautiful ways to draw your day
The media could not be loaded. I love this book and think it is so beautiful. Mrs. Dion Baker is an extremely talented artist. I am no where near being able to execute sketches as beautiful as hers. However this book gives me so much inspiration and a great desire to pick up a pencil/paints and give it a try. If I keep trying I will get better and better and this book gives me so much beauty to strive for and makes me want to journal!!

Encouraging & Inspiring Book for Anyone Wanting to Add Creativity & Meaning to their Days
I've been following Samantha Dion Baker's work on Instagram for years now and pre-ordered this book as soon as she let us know it was out. I read the entire book the first weekend I received it and was so touched by the thoughtfulness, encouragement and helpful tips put into this book. It was a great blend of Samantha's personal journey, why the daily drawing has impacted her life, what it means to her family, and how she can sometimes secretly capture memories and remember them years later for her and her children to remember some day. This book was especially wonderful because she focused on how anyone could benefit. You don't have to be an experienced artist, writer or journalist. It doesn't have to be beautiful or shared with the world. The point is that everyone's daily life - no matter how routine, mundane or seemingly boring can reveal moments of wonder, joy, small pleasures through a PRACTICE of looking each day. It reminded me that life is happening now, and the small moments add up (like compound interest) to create our own personal journey.Such a simple and lovely book, but the meaning behind it is POWERFUL and fantastic. Thank you Sam for sharing your heart and your pages with all of us.

wonderfully inspiring
I love this book! I've been wanting to establish a daily sketching/drawing habit, and was looking for something that would motivate me to do so. This book has beautifully drawn and painted illustrations and sketches, text with lots of ideas to keep you in the daily sketchbook habit, and is written in an encouraging voice. It doesn't matter whether you are just beginning to sketch or have done it for years. Anyone can get started. Her sketches are pen/ink and watercolor, but she says you can use just about any art medium you like. I have started a daily sketching/drawing sketchbook habit using pencil, pen, and colored pencils, just to get started. I may switch to watercolor later. Great book! I keep reading it and looking at it, because I love to look at it. I read the text in one day, but it's the illustrations, sketches, and. ideas that keep me coming back to it.

Cute but simplistic
As someone struggles to keep a sketchbook but practices art regularly nonetheless, I realize now that I am not the right audience for this book.I got it based on several recommendations (some online, one from a lady in a drawing class I frequent), and while it does have very pretty illustrations inside (inspiring in themselves!) the content is very much for people brand new to the whole world of art and art supplies. It is mostly a guide to supplies with some personal anecdotes by the author, interspersed with her illustrations from her journaling practice. Not really a guide to habit-forming, or a how to draw, it is more of a gentle introduction to putting away the inner critic and finding an excuse to draw /something/ every day.Would recommend borrowing this from a library rather than purchasing.

Fantastic book - bought both!
Love this book - I bought Draw your World first and loved it so much I bought Draw your Day as well. Samantha Dion Baker has a wonderful way on getting you to draw as more of a way of being, to let ones creative spark come from the everyday. I have been creating each day even with some mistakes and learning to accept them in the process. Great read and knowledge helping you find your own style.

So great to have these digitally, able to see anywhere
I love books. I love art books. But I’m not always able to take a book out of my book case. This one is lovely to have on hand for when you’re in a waiting room or laying ill in bed and such.As for the content, this is a great book for when you want to sketch, paint oe whatever but are stuck on the how to begin and how to know what to paint or whatever. The illustrations are inspiring on their own so even when you are in such a bad place in your life, scrolling through and seeing the pictures might spark something

Fa venire voglia di incominciare subito un diario illustrato
The media could not be loaded.
