I use 2 of these chargers with my bikes and have not noticed any reduction in battery output. My understanding is that lithium batteries discharge at higher rate than convention batteries and that a trickle charger is necessary. **Q: I'm charging a lithium ion battery for storage, and thus would like to only charge it to 40%. Is this possible?** A: No you can't but there is no need to charge at 40 percent, I store 6 bikes with these chargers on constantly with no problems. **Q: Will this 'wake up' a 12v lithium battery that is in sleep mode please?** A: Do you mean the battery is Dead if so only if the sells aren't nackerd and it hasn't been changed previously on a lead acid charger. **Q: can this charger be used with lead acid battery's** A: No, this is only suitable for Lithium batteries ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Optimate 4 lithium *by Z***Y on 26 March 2023* The Package and charger is a little confusing as it has LifeP04 and LFP written over it . Instructions also read as for LifeP04 batteries only . To explain LifeP04 & LFP ( both mean the same) is a phosphate lithium battery . I have a lithium motorcycle battery with no mention on my battery or it’s manufacturer website that it is a phosphate battery or is lithium- ion. Iam guessing it is a lithium- ion battery . These batteries do have different chemistries in them and different anodes & cathodes. . Anyhow so far - It charges this battery perfect . No problems so far. The Optimate series are recommended by the dealer and they have said it wouldn’t void any warranty or cause damage. They use them on various Honda motorcycles that have additional electrical devices that discharge the battery when sitting around for long periods. All with lithium batteries all made by Eliiy Japanese battery manufacturer.The second picture- my finger points to the paragraph- DO NOT USE- NiCd, NiMh, lead acid. it’s obvious that you wouldn’t use on these batteries. But the - “any other li-ion battery” is also confusing. non rechargeable batteries- also obvious NOT to use…. .
