Teans Gourmet Chicken Curry Paste 200g - Authentic Malaysian Recipe

Very tasty. Reminded me of my Late Mothers mild and creamy Sri Lankan curries she used to make for me as a child. These Malaysian Curry Pastes are quick and easy to prepare. 1 to 1.5kg's of chicken on the bone, peeled, halved or quartered potatoes, 250ml water, 200ml coconut milk. I like to hardboil 4 eggs in the curry as it cooks away. Once it is all cooked, I eat it with some fresh cooked Macaroni. You could have rice though.

I am from Malaysia and my mother used to make her own curry powder. Unless this is no longer an option so I am always trying “Malaysian” curry power or paste to find a good alternative. I quite like this in terms of taste ((though not as good as the ones my mother used to make of course) but some may find it a bit spicy. Not all curries in Malaysia is spicy (hot). Maybe if I add more liquid in next time it won’t be as spicy as some of my friends won’t be able to take it. However, I would definitely buy again as it’s so easy to just throw in some chopped shallots, sear the chicken pieces, asd this paste, add in potatoes and watered down coconut milk before finishing off with thick coconut milk/cream right at the end….simples!

Brilliant brand. Normally I go into the city to buy these. Brilliant for the slow cooker with large chunks of potatoes , coconut milk and beef, chicken or lamb chucked in. Some fresh coriander, fresh lime and gorgeous basmati rice...heaven!

Great easy way to make a Malaysian nonya style chicken curry

Excellent service, 36 hours from ordering to delivery! Fabulous Malaysian paste, authentic with a touch of spice, maybe more than a touch, but I love it spicy. Used to get this from Ocado, but they don't sell it any more, so when I saw it on Amazon I was very happy! My friend love it too, so will definitely be ordering more.

Great curry paste. Very easy to prepare. Following the instructions i found it way to spicy and strong (probably a true Malaysian flavour!). The instructions say to add half a can of coconut milk. I put a whole can in (400ml) to help dilute it a bit and that makes it just right (for my taste anyway)

Delicious but very spicy. I added 5 lbs chicken, more water than instructions, and an entire can of coconut milk (directions say 1/2 can). And even with adding more water and coconut it came out very spicy.

Not much more to say, other than it is excellent and authentic. I purchased this as I am in a small town in central California, and can't drive 100 miles to the nearest Asian grocery. Add some coconut milk, a couple lime leaves and a teaspoon or two of wine and fish sauce, and it is perfect.

Being an older generation Singaporean living overseas, this is the best n most authentic Singapore/Malaysian curry paste I've tried. And it's so easy to use. Highly recommended.
