Elance Poco Briefs Are Back!
I was very disappointed to discover Jockey discontinued the Elance Poco mid briefs at the retail level. I've been buying this style since the early '80s when baseball player Jim Palmer was on the package. Was told by the retailer that Jockey's "Stay New" #8492 are the model that replaced the Elance Poco style. They fit okay, but I felt a little shrink wrapped in them. They are 95% cotton/5% spandex. The deal breaker was the dense stitching around the base of the waistband- it dug into my waist & was really apparent when wearing jeans. So happy to find out that Jockey resurrected the Elance Poco style & that they are available online. I've read comments about the fabric being thin, fitting small, causing itching & so on. I found they are the same for fit & comfort as they were before being discontinued. A smooth waistband & breathable 100% cotton, which I prefer. From the '80s to present, they always shrunk a little after washing, but fit comfortable. As for fabric, it is a little thinner compared to when they were made in the USA in the '80s to early '00s. After the US, I think the manufacturing switched to Mexico, then Jamaica & finally Honduras, where they were made for the final years before being discontinued & continue to be made there for the online versions. The online versions don't have tags, it's an embossed label on the back panel of the brief, showing the Jockey name, size & where they are made. They come in a wide variety of colours, which is really nice. Haven't seen these in red since the '80s! Seemed to be black, white & grey that were available at retail in the '00s & early '10s. The packaging isn't the matte plastic cases, like when they were sold in retail. Now, 2 briefs come in a plastic baggie to save on weight & extra bulk for shipping through the mail. I really hope Jockey don't discontinue these great brief because they are the only ones I have found that fit excellent & are so comfortable to wear..

You Don't Need No Stinkin Fly!
Great underwear. Some of the best support available this side of a jockstrap. Some have the white interior panel, which I don't care for. FOTL are not bad but these are twice the support. Not too low profile, these are a good transition for all those savvy guys that realize that traditional briefs offer little support or control and boxers are only for metrosexual punks that don't know any better. Unless your old briefs go up to your armpits, you don't need no stinking fly to rob you of support. My job requires many hours of driving in a truck. Sloppy shorts can allow the jewels to roll right under you and lead to a reduced quality of life trip. Besides blowouts and weigh stations, there are few things worse than an unsecured load. With these fine Jockey shorts, your junk stays put away in the trunk until you need it.

Be careful of the patterned varieties!
I've been buying Elance Poco Briefs for years. What I didn't realize with this particular half-price (at the time) SKU was that the patterned briefs (Diamond Geo, in this case), as opposed to the solid colored variety (Best Navy), would have a different texture and feel to the fabric; it feels almost like there is a plastic coating over the cotton. Before this order, I had only ever purchased the solid colors (usually black) and those all had the normal cotton feel. I suppose given that I paid half-price what the black are, I'll just learn my lesson and keep them for the Best Navy briefs, but will not buy any of the patterned variety in the future. Also, I already knew from past experience the Elance Poco briefs run smaller than most, with very little stretch to them, so anyone who wears 36" or larger waist pants would likely want to avoid these even in the X-Large.

Tighteys, but not in a good way.
I have worn Jockey Poco briefs for years. I usually order a dozen pair at a time, which last me for a while. My last order arrived, and I discovered the design has changed. Different pouch construction, different (and tighter) elastic in waistband and legs. Basically it is not the same product, and it is no longer satisfactory for me. Why change a comfortable and successful design?

Better than the competition but inconsistant
I've been wearing these for many years. They are still the best bikini brief I can find. Although pricey, they are better than Hanes, Fruit of the Look, etc., which tend to be made out of very thin material. Two complaints with the Poco briefs. The sizing can be inconstant especially after the first wash. Also, the color/pattern offering is very limited compared to what they used to have available. It seems as if whatever cheap lot of fabric they can get from China, that's the pattern you're gonna get for the next few months.

Jockey *used* to produce great underwear. Well
The package arrived with 2 pair of underwear, a solid colored one and a patterned one. The solid one fit alright although slightly small. The patterned one was a joke. If these were supposed to be XL, as marked, then someone has no idea about sizing. The size was waaaaaayy too small and the fabric stiff and unyielding. Basically meant to be used as a rag or just thrown away. Jockey *used* to produce great underwear. Well...not anymore, so it seems. Thankfully these were inexpensive. Oh, I forgot...you get cheap if you pay cheap. Won't make that mistake again, certainly not with Jockey, anyway!

As good as ever!
I've been wearing this style of Jockey briefs for about 20 years. Over-priced, but the most comfortable, best fitting I've found. I recently ordered four more. They still fit well. Despite what one reviewer wrote, the front liner is still present. In the black ones the liner is now also black, not the traditional white. Without looking closely one can think the liner is no longer present. The grey briefs still have the white liner. So far, the quality still seems fine.

I've worn Poco briefs for decades and was very disappointed that the two items were not the same
Of the two pair, only one fit as expected (the solid navy). I've worn Poco briefs for decades and was very disappointed that the two items were not the same, fit or material wise. While the solid navy pair was what I'd expected in terms of fit and feel (nice and soft), the patterned pair, although marked medium, fits like a small and I can barely get them on. I also don't believe they are all cotton, as they feel rough against the skin with very scratchy seams. I paid for two pair but only got one that is wearable.
