A very inviting swing!
Looks like a huge spider web and very inviting to youngsters! You may hang it to swing back and forth by attaching the ropes adjacent to one another,or so that it spins by connecting the attachment ropes to the same point. The kids haven't come over to try it out yet but I know it will be a hit! I am hopeful this swing will hold up better than other rope swings I have had in the past which mold too quickly. This is a very substantial swing and looks as though it will hold up well ! Since it is under the trees I will pick off any remaining leaves that are on it each week to prevent caking and encouraging mold. It has space between the webbing so it should not be much of a problem of accumulation of debris. A bit on the expensive side but if it holds up should be well worth it.

Better than expected - son loves it!
I thought we were past the swing set stage but just bought a new house that came with a nice playset in the back and my 11year old decided he wanted to swing but currently there were only baby swings attached. Since he was at the awkward tween age of Toys r Us no longer being a Christmas treasure trove of options and not wanting to contribute further to the collection of video games that rivals Gamestop, getting the most awesome swing ever seemed to be a good option. I really labored between the large and the XL. I mean "come on", these things ain't cheap and the large would already be an indulgence, but in the end, I figured bigger is better. Diameter wise, two small adults can fit in this quite comfortably. (I've already enjoyed a couple swings with my son - money well spent right there :) ). We have not tried the swivel option, as the idea of spinning makes me queasy, but it's essentially a fantastic swinging hammock. The quality seems impeccable though ours has only been outside less than a week now since we bought at Xmas and this artic winter has just now thawed. My kid loves it! He takes a pillow out with him each time and just lays and enjoys the beautiful weather. A bird did poop on him but that's not the swings fault. ;). Lol. Also, I wondered about installing properly and the swing and set people were very helpful. They sent me a link to some inexpensive Home Depot carribeaners that support well over the 600lbs the swing does and they sent me a video link of a home install so I could see how easy it was to shorten the swing if need be. (Sorry I no longer have either of these links but since swing isn't currently available on amazon any longer I suggest going to their website directly anyway. They match price). To attach to a swing set that isn't very high off the ground it help to loop the ropes over the top bar prior to latching on. Then swing is perfect height off ground.

I had been looking for a large swing to hold ...
I had been looking for a large swing to hold all three of our younger grandkids at once and found this one. It's the look I wanted but I wish the weaving was tighter. The kids "sink" in it making it a bit harder for all three to swing on it without rolling on top of each other.

Get the X-Large Swing and Enjoy the ride
The X-large is the Best Swing. Don't bother with anything smaller. It holds adults and children and you can install the swing lower to the ground while the kids are short and re-tie it as they grow taller easily. This X-large swing can hold 5 12 year olds at once; you just need to be strong enough to push them. My husband, 6'.3" and I 5.' 8"can swing on it together however I prefer to swing on my own. We followed the installation instructions on the video provided on Swing an Spin Web site, and hired a professional tree climber from a tree trimming company who hung the swing from a strong 63 foot branch on our Oak tree. We used the same straps recommended on the Web site so the tree branch would remain stable and have the ability to continue growing normally through the years. The tree climber bought a 100 foot Rock Climbing, weather proof rope from Salvation Army; He he tied professional knots to each ring of the swing and tied them together higher up allowing for lots of room on the swing to stand up on the edges and swing the two rope ends tie back into a long single stretch of the rope which is tied to the straps he wrapped onto tree limb. Our swing swings freely; we installed the swing about 15 feet from the base of the tree so the kids have two directions to swing diagonally down each side of the base of the tree rather than directly toward the base of the tree with enough room to allow the swing to turn and spin freely and enough time to redirect the swing if it swings widely toward the base. The kids caught on real fast and understand if the swing goes near the base it will bump into the tree base. We absolutely love the swing and believe it will out live our family.

neighborhood fun
We live in a very odd neighborhood - one where children just go outside and play with other kids. So this Christmas I bought the kids this swing. They have been waiting patiently for it to be put up outside. They come to the door every few days and visit it in the house on our inside hammock swing stand where it is sitting till the special swivel and carabiners we ordered come in. All the kids, both young and old love it. We did some research before we put it up. 1 - use mountain climbing quality swivels and carabiners - they are designed to hold loads - do not use the stuff at the hardware store. I found what I wanted at the local sports outfiters.2 Use webbing for the tree not hardware store rope. That stuff breaks. We had trouble with the rope breaking in just a few months with the old swing that just held 1 kid. The webbing with a water knot is recommended. This is not backpack webbing - but the stuff used for mountain climbing that can really hold the weight. ASK - don't just pretend you know and buy something that will break. This thing is just way to fun and adults love it just as much as the kids - so make it able to old the weight safely. We will be putting it up outside tomorrow. I also bought a cheapo doggy bed for them to put on the floor to cushion it and they are planning a tent to go around the ropes... Look out Moms - there is going to be a bed sheet missing I bet!!

The swing does not come with the hardware to install ...
The swing does not come with the hardware to install it. At this price of almost $300, it should come with all the hardware included. I find it frustrating that I have to go online and find another site to properly install this swing.
