The Reed ST-Tempkit electrical test kit includes a digital multimeter, infrared thermometer, noncontact voltage detector, temperature input adapter, and K-type thermocouple probe for installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial and residential electrical and heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems. The kit comes with instructions and batteries for all components and one test lead set for the multimeter. A carrying case is included for storing and transporting the kit when not in use.The Reed Instruments ST-922 digital multimeter (also known as a multitester) measures voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, frequency, duty cycles, and temperature in electrical testing applications. The meter measures duty cycles to 99.9%, indicating the percent of time a circuit is on. An audible continuity sensor confirms a circuit conducts electricity, and a diode test detects proper functioning of a circuit’s diodes. The hold function keeps a reading on the LCD, even after the meter is disconnected, and the relative mode stores a reading in memory to use as a zero point for subsequent readings so that multiple readings can be compared. It is an average-sensing, or average-responding, meter and provides accurate readings when measuring linear loads where the current or voltage has an undistorted waveform. It is an auto-ranging meter that automatically selects the appropriate operating range for the property being measured. The Reed Instruments ST-882 infrared digital thermometer measures surface temperature at a distance for applications involving hard-to-reach, moving, hot, or electrified equipment. The thermometer has an 8:1 distance-to-spot ratio, which means the measurement field measures approximately 8 feet in diameter when the target is 1 foot away. The operator can choose to display readings in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit. A built-in laser pointer helps improve aiming accuracy when taking measurements. The data hold feature automatically freezes a reading on the display when the trigger is released. The LCD is backlit for readability in low light. The Reed Instruments AC-9 noncontact voltage detector senses AC voltage without touching or disconnecting the circuit, helping to protect the operator from shock by identifying live wires and cables. A built-in flashlight illuminates dark work areas. A clip attaches the tool to a pocket for carrying when not in use.The Reed Instruments AD-1 temperature adapter allows a temperature probe with a mini connector to be connected to a compatible multimeter with 3/4" banana jacks. The Reed Instruments TP-01 K-type thermocouple wire probe measures surface temperature.Multimeter SpecificationsMaximum alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC) voltage input600 volts (V)Maximum resistance detected40 megaohmsMaximum AC or DC current input10 ampMaximum capacitance measured200 microfarads (μF)Maximum frequency measured10 megahertz (MHz)Maximum temperature measurement760 degrees Celsius/1400 degrees FahrenheitDisplay3,999 maximum countPower supply9V battery (one, installed)Standards metEuropean Conformity (CE); International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) safety standard 61010-1 and 61326Safety category ratingCategory III 600VWeight255 g/8.99 oz.Dimensions150 x 70 x 48 mm/5.91 x 2.75 x 1.89 inches (H x W x D)Infrared Thermometer SpecificationsTemperature measurement range-50 to 550 degrees C/-58 to 1022 degrees FDistance-to-spot range8:1Emissivity0.95, fixedPower supply9V battery (one, installed)Weight177 g/6.4 oz.Dimensions160 x 82 x 41 mm/6.3 x 3.2 x 1.6 inches (H x W x D)Noncontact Voltage Detector SpecificationsVoltage measurement range90 to 600VStandards metIEC61010; European Union EMC (EN) EN61326Safety category ratingCategory III 1,000VPower supply1.5V AAA batteries (two, installed)Weight42 g/1.5 oz.Dimensions159 x 29 mm/6.25 x 1 inches (H x OD)H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back; OD is outside diameter, the distance around the circumference.Multitesters (also called multimeters) are electrical test meters that measure multiple properties of an electrical circuit, such as current, voltage, resistance, capacitance, and continuity. Available in handheld or benchtop models, multitesters diagnose electrical problems in electrical equipment, wiring, and power supplies. A variety of probes, clamps, and leads can be used to connect the meter to a circuit or device. Multitesters display information either in analog or digital form. Factors that influence meter choice include the electrical properties to be measured, the anticipated range of results, and the desired level of protection against transient voltages. Safety ratings are based on the International Electrotechnical Commission's (IEC) standards for low-voltage test equipment. IEC 61010 delineates four overvoltage installation categories. In general, a meter with a category IV rating will provide more protection against transient voltages than a meter with a lower category rating.Reed Instruments manufactures test and measurement equipment such as pressure gauges, electrical testers, temperature and humidity instrumentation, and inspection instruments. The company, founded in 2004, is headquartered in Wilmington, NC.What's in the Box?Reed Instruments ST-922 average-sensing digital multimeterTest lead set for ST-922Reed Instruments ST-882 infrared thermometerReed Instruments AC-9 noncontact voltage detectorReed instruments AD-1 temperature adapterReed Instruments TP-01 K-type thermocouple wire probe(2) 1.5V AAA batteries(2) 9V batteriesCarrying caseInstructions
