I love this. The opening is jarring
I love this. The opening is jarring, and as the two begin to get to know each other, I am drawn deeper. The secondary characters are well fleshed out and the Author has gone out of her way on terms of research. This is a wonderful Manga/Comic for anyone who wants to dive deeper in Celtic lores and superstitions along with Britain, Icelandic, Japanese, Arthurian and Christian mythology. It's well done, the magic system clear and consistent. Dragons, Fae, Hellhounds, and more to be found here. Love story is a slow burn, but one that makes sense as the characters don't mean to necessarily "fall in love" but settle for one another. Elias Ainsworth is mysterious, with his dog skull and antelope horns, he is alluring with melting into the shadows and labelled Thorn mage. Chise discovers she is a Sleigh Beggy or Slay Vega, a precious human who sits on the fence, her body attracting the supernatural and the ultimate engine for taking in magic. Lot's of detail, beautiful artwork, well-developed characters, and a storyline I can't quite predict at every turn. THANK YOU KORE YAMAZAKI!

Intruiging! Ready for something new? Give this a try!
I would describe this manga as Intriguing fairytale oriented story telling with beautiful art & characters. It has a unique take on relationship building and I felt the narration with the same absorption as a novel. The first book in a series, the story starts out slow building mystery and intrigue around the Mage & the creatures drawn to the main character. I struggled to keep focus a bit at first but the story picks up towards the end and I'm glad I picked up the other two mangas that are out. Stick with it! This is sure to be a fun ride. If you're tired of the same old magical girl / slice of life / fantasy genres this story is one of its own. Off beat and fresh is the best way to describe this series without giving too much away. If you like Grimms original tales, you should enjoy this ride. I look forward to more from this artist.

Story nicely told
Love the story and the art. Nicely spun story kept me rivited for the entire read. Chitose is a teenager who has been thrown curveballs by life. It'll be fun to see her as the story develops, and her ties to the world strengthen. I absolutely love what the Kindle version has to offer. For me, with eyes that tire easily, it's easy to miss small details. The Kindle version can show you one panel at a time. Perfect! I am chomping at the bit to get vol. 2, but that needs to wait until next pay-day.

beautiful, lyrical and disturbing.
The art is fantastic; lines clear and clean. Characters are easy to distinguish. Translation is good, without going overboard. If the reader has questions, it is assumed s/he can Google. And plot? Haunting and delicious. It doesn't pull its punches so much as disguise them so that you walk away and only then it hits you. I will be continuing on with this series.

An incredible series!
I was hooked on this series from chapter one! Kore Yamazaki spins a tail of magic and intrigue like nothing I've seen before. Woven together with a beautiful slow-build romance are the elements of magical lore from cultures the world over. The artwork is simply breathtaking; these books will keep you turning pages and craving for more like you never thought possible! And really--who doesn't love it when humans and monsters fall in love?

Hooked
I wanted some Manga for my classroom and this series was recommended to me. I have to add a little material to the outfit of one minor character with a marker. They do have some discussion of drugs/alcohol, but the author is very good at discouraging both, which is helpful. I have read volumes 1-8. There is some gore, but nothing gratuitous. I am loving the story and there is lots of action!

You owe this to yourself
This entire series is well written and well drawn. You get a great sense of the characters, like you do with Studio Ghibli characters. You feel compelled to know what happens to them. To care about them. The books have an excellent sense of substance and are told like the best of fairy tales, with a sense of wonder and danger, costs and adventures and strange bargains. These stories have the feel of ones you remember well past when their covers have worn dull and their edges have frayed. Stories that will stay with you forever. There is no higher recommendation than that.

A Solid Beginning
This first volume of a larger series so far gas my curiosity piqued. The art is fantastic, especially protagonist Elias whose body dressed in a suit with a skull face showing is beautiful s d one of the high points of my reading it was seeing him. In terms of story, there's some strong ideas being built in this first part but it starts to become a little weaker at the end. This is in large part due to our main characters jumping around from place to place and giving a lot of exposition alongside it. However, these explanations are interesting and not too wordy do I personally wasn't bothered. The only real problem I had with this volume is that the story in the final chapter isn't resolved which on its own us kind of annoying. Luckily I have the second volume coming in soon to rectify this. Keep in mind that by no means are cliff hanger endings bad. However, I feel that any collection of stories should have somewhat of a conclusion just to make the reader feel satisfied when finished. Regardless I still enjoyed what I read and if you like the fantasy genre, you should enjoy this.

A Magical Storyline
Found by accident while browsing and I must admit the storyline I found rather strange at first, but soon got engrossed and the artwork is very beautiful.I brought the second volume soon after and now just ordered volumes 5 and 6Yup, it'll hook you as to what will happen next to Chise and her new family, what also is the backround to Elias. Is he human, part human or whole monster?

Item arrived in good condition. The story is very magical
Item arrived in good condition. The story is very magical, kinda like Harry Potter but more poignant and warm. I like how more the dynamics of the two main characters (the skull guy and the ginger girl) shifts from father/daughter to mother/son to teacher/student (with either of them being the teacher or student). And the art is beautiful and very detailed. Highly recommended by me.

Love the books and the series.
I loved the series and started reading the books while watching the Anime, I find it following it very closely but there are the occasional little gems in the books that are not in the anime. I love the style of are in the books more than the animated, just something about how its drawn.

Vale a pena !
