Pros:I expected much larger unit, but after getting it and trying it out, I am impressed with it. It is VERY quiet, down around the 15-20 decibel range even under vacuum (around 65db is human voice rating). It sits still on my workbench and doesn't wander around even though it is very light. I use in a mining/refining operation and have no complaints about how well it functions. Reaches 22+ inches Hg in about 1 second with a 3/8" plugged hose about 4 feet long. I normally only operate at 5-7" Hg so can't speak to pull down times for HVAC. Very impressed for the price.Cons:No real cons, but just potential design concerns. It works great as is, but if it had the capability of venting the exhaust via hose to the outdoors it would be perfect. I deal with acids and base chemicals and the vapors have to be exhausted thru a vent hood or the pump has to be outdoors. No visible port for the exhaust could be seen. I don't want to leave the unit outdoors, so I need to build a fume hood box for the pump that will pull the exhaust from the vacuum pump into the vent hood.General view: Great little low cost vacuum pump. Chemical resistant, Quiet, inexpensive, and portable if needed. I would buy again if I need to at some time in the future. Time will tell. I only have about two weeks with this unit, but if it continues to work as well as it has so far, I have an amazing find.

Works well. I have used this to pull -30+ vacuum while evacuating air conditioning systems. Great value for the money. If I had one complaint (maybe all electric vacuum pumps do this?) There is a very fine oil mist from the breather on top of the pump. I draped a shop towel over the breather and it significantly reduced this. Not a huge issue for me since it's used in a detached garage but worth mentioning. I have also used this to diagnose/test vacuum operated components on vehicles. Most recently the vacuum operated 4X4 system on my truck. I have approximately 10 hours on my pump so far with the included oil. It's getting due for a change but I see no reason I won't get a few years out if this pump with proper maintenance. It doesn't seem to get any more hot that I would expect. I have ran it for 2 hours in a single sitting with no Ill effects.

It works well with the vacuum chamber I have.

I got this to use in place of a Food Saver vacuum sealer for use with the Mason Jar adapter. Works great. Pulls much more vacuum than the Food Saver. Mason jar lids are even a little difficult to get off. Runs quietly and seals quickly. I added a vacuum gauge which isn't necessary but nice to see where you're at. Very pleased...

This unit worked great once it was filled with oil that did not come with the unit. However, it has failed miserably due to my use of Minwax Wood Hardener in my vacuum chamber. I even used a filter between the vessel and pump. This is my fault not the pumps. It worked great for weeks, I got a lot of wood ready for using but nowhere in anything that i read di I see a warning until I Googled failure of pumps with Minwax, beware, supposedly Cactus Juice is safe, We will see once I can afford another pump or maybe rebuild the one I have. Good Product though

Arrived covered in oil. Yet the included bottle of oil was sealed. I can only assume it leaked out of the pump itself.Didn't quite get down to -30 but apparently close enough since my new mini split air conditioner is running fine.Power cord is super short! You will absolutely need an extension cord for this unless you're doing some kind of bench work.Other than those issues it's ridiculously quiet and easy to use. I would recommend going slightly bigger for HVAC work though.

This vacuum pump is super cheap, very small, and light. Mine did come with a bottle of oil, but was empty of oil when arrived. Unit was able a achieve a deep vacuum on a 25' copper line set took less than 2 mins, then held for 30 mins. The pump and motor got a little warm but did not shut off on thermal. The whole time you could barely hear this little guy running even sitting next to it. Not sure how durable it is but it defiantly did the job.

I use this to degas silicone and resin. It isn't as loud as I expected it to be. It's very effective at what I want it to do. I learned it is probably not possible to degas resin quick enough unless it's the slow curing kind since there is just THAT many microscopic bubbles in the mix.
