They're a thick, smooth plastic with dark mirrored circle prints on the top.They are one sided, that is to say that there is an intended bottom as no light shines on that side.The lights are bright and have a nice, clean, and vibrant 8 color array.In bright light they come on when an object covers the light sensor.In the dark they come on when they detect motion.I find this feature to be most useful. I bought them because I have a black desk and at night it's hard to find my coasters. With these I can lightly tap my desk and they light up. It's perfect.They are a bit smaller than a typical coaster so I can't use them for larger coffee mugs or large sports bottles but they are perfect for typical sized cups, 20oz sports bottles, medium sized travel mugs and soda cans.There are 17 settings:Solid on state for 10 seconds for each of 8 colorsBreathing type state (gentle fade in and out) for each of 8 colorsRainbow cycleThe only thing stopping me from rating 5 stars is that for one thing, these are intended to go in car cup holders. I would suggest against that for 2 reasons: the motion sensitivity is really high and they are bright so they would be constantly on in a moving vehicle at night. The other reason is that the charging port is exposed on the side. If a cup sweats it will surely run over the side, pool in the cupholder and get in to the port and probably ruin it.The other thing is that one of them, after a while, will stop working. I can get it to come back on just by plugging it in for a split second. It's not that the battery is dying, it just seems to need a kick in the pants to get working again.All in all, if you're an LED junky, or just want something different to put your drink on, I would definitely recommend these. They're pretty cool.

This is a cool and inexpensive way to add some added bling to the inside of your vehicle. The LED cup holder discs light up several different colors by the click of a button. I ordered two sets for the front and rear cup holders. When all the discs are lit up, the vehicle has a nice look.

So researched these things like crazy, just so much crap on Amazon these days. So they actually work come on when the truck starts and stay on, have charged once in 2 weeks and haven’t died yet.

Very disappointing. After having these in my vehicle, for only a few short weeks, and recharging only once stopped working, the battery no longer holds a charge for more than a single day.I would NOT recommend this product.

They are small , like really small

Very nice item to add to your room / car.A lot of different colors for the pad and very bright too . Overall good product and some what good value since you receive 2 and a charger.

I got these for my husband because he just got a new Dodge Charger and he’s going for the color red inside as accents and so I thought these would be perfect and they were. They look so cool especially when you put a water bottle it lights up the whole water bottle

Loooove these!! Bought for my new 2020 Blazer. Lights aren’t distracting. Only come on when it’s dark enough and there is movement.

I bought these with excitement. I was so disappointed. They are definitely not a bright colour at all. They barely show at all. Don’t waste you money at all with these things.
