Fragile and cheap
I wanted to use this as a light in a home bar project. Essentially, it would lay at the back of a shelf and backlight my glassware and booze. Disclaimer: I know enough about electronics to be dangerous, thus I don't think I'll be able to get my money back, but want to warn others about what to expect.I began laying out the tape to mock up my project. The silicone coating started to peel off in hunks. Oh well, I thought. It's not outdoors or above my sink, so it doesn't matter. After using similar care as one would to a light bulb, I noticed that some of the LEDs were not the color I had selected. For example, the strip was set to a warm white. Three LEDs right at the start were straight red. If I pressed on these lights, they would be the correct color. Great, I thought. However, since they were at the beginning of the strip, I could cut those off and work from the other side. The far end does not have the same connector (female instead of male, just by virtue of some pins) so I cut and re-soldered the connector to the far end (that's where the dangerous part came in). Problem solved, or so I thought. As I started to peel the adhesive backing, the adhesive also came off of the tape light, making it useless. It stuck in some places, and since it was just laying flat, it should be just fine. I continued to stick the tape light on to the shelf and when I was finished, I plugged it back in. More wrong colored LEDs, directly in the center. That's where I'm done with this product.

The WiFi is a Lie
1. The WiFi is a LieThis product requires 2.4ghz wi-fi to connect to the app. Many modern routers, including my Google WiFi unit, use whichever band (2.4 or 5ghz) is best for your current device, situation, location, and load. Meaning my phone was always on the 5ghz band. I tried several apps that were supposed to let me drop to the 2.4ghz band, but I couldn't get any of them to work.2. Push the Button. Ten Times.Since I couldn't connect to the app, the only way to control the lights was by pushing the button on the string itself. So no timer mode, we had to manually turn it on. Then we had to press the button four times to get to the color we wanted to use. Thankfully they HAD a pre-set color we wanted to use, since we couldn't customize the color without the app. Then when we wanted to turn it off, we had to press the button six more times to cycle through the remaining options and get to the off position. No way to adjust brightness either, without the app.3. Waterproof CoatingBecause of the clear waterproof coating, you have two options anytime you need to wrap this string around a corner. You can either strip off part of the coating, hoping you don't damage the contacts, and use corner connectors. OR, you can leave the waterproof coating on, and use straight-line connectors. There are connectors that will chomp down through the waterproof coating, but they're only straight-line. I couldn't find any for corners. So my corners looked like this: lights - straight connector - extension wire - straight connector - lights. With ten corners to go around my cabinets, I'm sure you can imagine how long it took me to do this.4. It doesn't lastAfter literal HOURS of my life invested in this project, I actually thought it looked pretty good. Sure, we couldn't put it on a timer, or control the brightness, and of course my connections were visible under some of the corners, but overall I was really happy with it. And then 2 days later, we pressed the button four times.. and only the first section of lights came on. I spent another TWO HOURS messing with the connectors and extension wire between that first section of lights and the rest. Try as I might, I couldn't get the light string to work. The best I got was the whole thing flashing on and off steadily, which makes me wonder if there was some kind of ground fault somewhere, but I couldn't find it. So I ripped it all down and returned it.Some of this probably boils down to user error, I admit. But much of it does not. It's up to you whether or not the time investment is worth this possible outcome.

CAUTION: THESE ARE ADDICTING
You buy one, thinking, hey if it doesn't work, at least the party will go on for good booze' sake. Then you realize they are better than real piss-yellow incandescent bulbs, then you get spoiled and just use your phone to match your mood on command, anytime, any way you want. Then you think "hmm, one of these is cool, but more would be better"... And so it begins. I have four in the living room now and plan to buy more when the inkling arrises again. People looooove them...and so do I! Plus they're cheap!

Only supports 2.4 GHz wifi
Bought the lights and was super excited to try out the alexa feature, but I couldn’t get that far. While they were easy to install and look cool, they will not connect to my wifi. In the app it says they only work with 2.4 GHz wifi which I did not realize when I bought these, and my apartment wifi is not 2.4 GHz. I can’t find anywhere on the listing that mentions this, which is upsetting. I’m going to see if I can get a refund or return these because I can’t use my phone to control them at all, let alone alexa, because they can’t connect to wifi.

Easy unser counter lighting
I used these lights to replace old under counter lighting. My counter top is 20 feet long. Could not be easier, plug them in and turn them on. The only problem I had and anticipated was that the adhesive strip on the back would not hold. So I used the adhesive strip to set the led strip and then used standard cable stables to secure. Just make SURE you do not penetrate the led strip with the stables. They look great. Whole thing took let that an hour. I was looking at very expensive led fixtures. It would have taken at least six and taken me hours and back cramps to install.

Great quality lights, love the customization
I couldn't quite figure out how to hook these up to the app but when I contacted the seller they very quickly responded with a video to help. I set it up quite easily after that and the lights look great and work well with the app. I've just left it on the solid color at about 50% brightness so I don't know how the other features work, but it looks great, has stayed stuck to the wall and works well. I recommend them! Before sticking them to your surface, make sure that the end of the lights stops at a cutting point.

Easy to set up with Alexa.
Did not get a remote so not sure how they work. Alexa controls them very well. The light will not stay up with sticky back, had to hot glue them. Other than those two things...they are bright and have many colors to choose from. Great addition to gameroom

Not good
Didn't come with remote, cannot easily distinguish between 2 4ghx and 5ghz even SSID is the same. Does not connect to Alexa after many attempts. Instructions do not say which type light to install.
