Works good, but not at first.
Followed all instructions, but could not get monitor to come on after boot. Contacted amazon tech support who walked me through setup to ensure I did not do anything stupid. Could not find any cause, company ended up sending me a new one. Same issue. Tried PC/laptop, windows 7/10, none worked correctly. I happen to have my own VGA cables laying around, so I swapped it for the ones that came with the KVM, and everything worked. All 4 cables that came with the unit did the same thing, none of them got the signal from the PC to the monitor. Not sure why as the cables worked when not hooked to the KVM...anyway something to try if anyone has the same issue. Good value now that it is working.

Does a Fine Job!
EDIT: I upgraded my overall rating from 3 stars to 5. I am now using it to control just keyboard and mouse between two computers, both of which have their own monitors. In hindsight, I do not feel the issue I had was due to the KVM switch, but rather the limitations of Windows, switching on and off a second monitor on the same PC.Original Post: Didn't really work for me. When switching between PCs, the resolution changed quite a bit. Have a 1920x1080 monitor. The resolution was fine with each PC when the monitor was plugged in directly, but going through the KVM, the resolution was far different between the two.Resolved the issue by just using the free Google Remote Desktop to access the other PC.

All Around Average
I bought this VPM switch to switch seamlessly between two desktops using one display monitor, and it does that. However, immediately I noticed that both display resolutions had been changed and fonts and icons were all bigger and fuzzy. I had to reset the display to its previous resolution. Even then, there was quite a loss in graphic quality.Next, the VPM draws power from connecting to the computer in use through a USB port. If you don't connect, your display goes crazy with lines flickering across it. Finally, I was really annoyed by the proliferation of thick cords on my workspace. Since the switch must be at hand, there is no getting away from three more VGA cords and all the accompanying USB cables right there on your desk. I have really gotten spoiled by all the wireless devices. All in all, it's not worth the bother.

Easy to install and use
I use two computers, but have only one monitor. I had planned to buy a second monitor, however when I learned I could use a device that would let me hook 2 computers to the same monitor, for a much lower price, I decided to buy one of those devices. This KVM swith allows me to use one keyboard, and one mouse for both computers, which is much more convenient than having to switch between keyboards, and (should that be mice, or mouses?). I also like the fact I no longer have to keep disconnecting the monitor cord from one computer, and connecting it to the other.I have had no need of any technical assistance, because the product has worked perfectly, so I cannot comment of the tech support.

Switch
Good to share one monitor/printer/keyboard/mouse with two computers. Monitor aspect ratio is overridden by switch. I ended up with a separate switch for the monitor ... a physical pin to pin data transfer A/B switch, which helped somewhat. C2G 03364 2-Port VGA (HD15) Manual Switch Box for monitor.

Just what I needed
Got this little guy cuz I work at home once or more a week. Needed to be able to switch back and forth to my home PC if needed. Works great. I have it tucked under my desk so it kind of reminds me of one of those panic buttons at banks. Pretty cool. As most might say the switch takes about 3 seconds or so. But that's just because the PC is recognizing a new USB device being plugged in. So it's not so much the switches fault. I'd definitely buy another if needed. Good price too. Seems sturdy and long lasting.

Decent
The VGA cables that are included with this KVM switch are really poor quality. When I connected my two computers, the quality of the image went down quite a bit. I ended up having to replace the cables, which meant replacing the USB cables too. Other than that, the product has been just fine! The switch works as you would expect, when you press the button it cycles between the machines, there's not much to it.

Works pretty well
Bought this for the office to switch between computers. Used the cords that came with and the picture quality was pretty bad on the main computer. Switched out the cords with better ones and everything looks and works great.
