This piece is made of tungsten carbide. Tungsten is very dense. As a result, this piece is surprisingly heavy. Tungsten carbide is very hard; it’s often used to make drill bits and milling tools, metal tools that cut other metal.But, tungsten and tungsten carbide are also brittle. So, I’m not surprised by others who report that this pendant has broken or even shattered when dropped onto a hard surface. This is just characteristic of the material.The “carbon fiber” insert doesn’t look like any carbon fiber I’ve ever seen. It’s sort of woven material all right. This is actually good because carbon fiber has a very small and subtle pattern to it that doesn’t show up well from even a few feet away. The inset material used in this piece has a bolder pattern that shows up more.The chain is good quality.Overall, I like this necklace very much.

This cross pendant is obviously well made with quality materials. The problem for me is that the cross is way too big and heavy. I should have paid more attention to the description. The reviews were so good that I couldn't resist. Hoping that I can return and get money back. It's a real nice pendant but not for me.

Bought this for my 13 year old son. He used to wear those twisted wire ones. This is heavier than I expected, but he loved it! Unfortunately, he tried slipping it off his head and the chain link came apart. I put it back together, but the next day, the other side just broke. I can only assume the cross is too heavy. At least we still have the cross! I will just get a new chain! It might have been fine if not for the "stretch" by my son, who knows?

I bought this for my son. It’s the second one I’ve purchased for him, only because he saw the blue cross and liked it more than the one I purchased for him originally. Every bit of workmanship that goes into necklaces from this company shows. The quality is awesome and these pieces are so beautiful. You will not be disappointed.

My son wore out his other pendant, so I wanted to get him something sturdier. This cross looks great and it's very solid. I expect it'll hold up for a long time.

This is really a gorgeous cross. Just as beautiful, actually even more so in person. I did elect to separately buy a longer chain because I prefer to wear a cross like this lower and the chain that it comes with is a bit short for my taste.

I love this item. I have bought several different necklaces from Ceramic Gestalt and they are all beautiful, very well made and worth the price. The service is also outstanding. Delivery is always very fast and when I requested a different size chain than the one that came with the necklace they had no problem sending the one I wanted. Love these guys.
