I bought this jacket for cool-weather riding in low-light conditions. I was looking for THE most visible jacket I could find. The jacket has served me admirably this cool-weather season, and I'm quite happy with it. The fit seems a little odd. The torso of my US large fits great, but the arms are way too long. That's likely more a commentary on my oversized belly than anything else, but the arms still seem a bit out of proportion to the rest of the garment. Overall, great product.

Think of this jacket as a winter weight jersey... the fit is snug. If you belong to the "Old Guys Who Get Fat in the Winter Racing Team," you will want to go one size up. Over a light long sleeve base layer, this jacket keeps me warm on 45-55 degree days. The garment breathes well... I stay warm and dry on two hour rides. And you can be sure that any driver who isn't busy texting will see you.

Bright! fits perfect as there was some warnings that a (US) XL should buy Mavic XXL (Euro) I had read. This is very much a COLD weather jacket and it is too big to shove in a jersey pocket mid ride. The super tight weave outer makes it windproof and medium rain just bead ups and runs off (and I suppose some nik wax soft shell treatment would make it nearly water proof save for the black cuffs and wonderfully effective heat venting underarms). I bought it for bicycle commuting in Winter and also for hiking during hunting season. I have owned many cycling specific jackets over many decades; and this one stands out in that the neck feels comfortable zipped all the way up. The zipper also works fine one handed (unzip while climbing, rezip before heading down the mtn). These modern softshell fabrics really are amazing in that the old "breathable OR waterproof" decision is gone. It vents excessive heat and moisture, and amazingly, as noted above, it has shed the rain I have encountered save for the black cuffs. Overall, although I wouldn't deliberately chose it to go out into a downpour (I drive to work in those!) it is perfect for cold weather bicycle commuters, trail runners who use hunting lands, and road runners who run in teen to low thirties temps.
