This bag makes it easy and pleasurable to carry my camera
This bag makes it easy and pleasurable to carry my camera. Just today I tossed in my camera and a couple of lenses and was out the door in a shot. My other bags always seem to require a bit more effort to pack. I can put it over my head and slide it around behind me when I want it out of the way and then swing it back around to change lenses. It holds my 5dmkIII w/ 70-200, 16-35, 24-105 & 50. Heavy, yes. But really as you stack in lots of glass any bag gets heavy. The shoulder strap on this is really quite comfortable.I like the way this bag allows me to work vs some of the other bags that I have had that are more like backpacks. I have a nice Flipside 300 that will fit the same gear, but I never enjoyed carrying it around with me because it just felt as if I was about to hike a mountain side. The Flipside also requires too much effort to pull lenses out as well. The Retro 40 is versatile enough that if you want to travel light, 1 body & 2 lens or just a mirrorless, it doesn't feel as if the bag is overkill. I recently took it on a business trip because it would hold my Macbook Air, folders, personal items and my Fuji X-T1.It feels very well made, very sturdy. I can't see it coming apart or ripping easily. I also love how nondescript it is. Great bag. Highly recommended.

Great bag
They have stopped making this bag and I had a chance to ask a ThinkTank representative at a recent show the reason. He said it was because it was so large (they actually made one size larger, which they have also stopped making) that people didn't like the weight once they had it fully packed. I love it! I wish it had a few more heavy fabric loops on the sides so I could sling one or two more Velcro lens bags since this still doesn't have enough room if I'm going out for a long hike as I like to have long birding/wildlife lenses as well as macro and flash setups (for unusual small wildlife :) ). That being said, this is a very well made bag, extremely high build quality and pretty cool looking as well. If you like hauling the kitchen sink with you as I do, you probably want this bag.

Fantastic bag
A great bag for your camera and laptop. Plenty of room for a DSLR camera, a flash, and a couple lenses. Plenty of pockets and extra storage.

Best bag so far.
Best bag so far. I have at least a dozen camera bags and continue to hunt for the "perfect" one. IMO, it doesn't exist. This one is close. I can put a good amount of camera gear in it (DSLR & 5 to 6 lenses), my iPad, iPhone and iPad chargers, camera battery charger, glasses, etc. It also sits on it's bottom straight so it doesn't tip over easily, which is a biggie to me. Another great feature is the grab handle on the top rear, which also fits over the handle of a roller bag. The full size bag strap is well padded and comfortable. Overall, the construction of the bag is excellent, and it appears to be water resistant. Since I live in Alaska, and my main photo focus is outdoors (landscapes & wildlife), that's also an important feature. It's kind of a Catch-22, in that it holds a lot of gear, which in turn can make it quite heavy if you're not careful. This is probably more of a big deal with older people like me ;-). All in all, a great bag, and well worth the money.

My favorite bag.
Currently my favorite camera bag. Holds Nikon DSLR with 70-200 attached without a problem. Plenty of storage for trinity of lenses, extra body and two flashes. I don't carry a laptop but its nice to know I could. Comes with rain sleeve but the last rain storm I was in the bag did a good job repelling water. Also a can of Scotch Guard goes a long way. Comfortable strap and pad. Only complaint is it doesn't have a external pocket for a water bottle. Think Tank has an module water bottle accessory attachment for $29 which I think is over priced for what it does.

Room and more room
Easily fits all the gear I would need in many situations. In my bag Im carrying .. Nikon D70 with 70-200 on the body. 35mm and 24-120 in the main compartment. Two flashes, Tablet ... All fits in the main large compartment. There is also a huge front pocket and tons of storage for all your accessories (lens pens , batteries and such)I love the look and practicality of this bag. I purchased this after I quickly out grew the Retrospective 7.

Just get one already
Awesome build quality, not a super fan of hook and loop/pile closures, but it's no biggie to put something different on--the kind used on this bag is very secure so that's not really a worry: I just don't like the stuff. Plenty of room for a D810, 70-300 (on, hood reversed), 85mm, 50mm, and 30mm with enough room for another lens or two. Camera is stowed in an easy to access position. I almost regret not going with a larger one (I've a much larger laptop than this one can fit), but then it would have been too big for me. Another mod that I might end up making is adding more storage for filters to the underside of the covering flap -- or finding something that I can attach to the existing hook and pile tape. I don't like having to go into pockets to get my filters. I'm not considering this a criticism of the bag because you honestly get a much more solid bag than you've any right to expect at this price point already.

alles passt rein....

Ottimo
