**Q: Is this type of flute recommended for people with small hands?**
A: The Chieftain Low D whistle may be a challenge for children and adults with small hands.  It is usually played with a piper's grip that is not fingered with the tips of the fingers. It the finger tips pass over the top of the flute and the fingers closer to the palm are used to cover the holes

This is my second Chieftain Low D Whistle... the first was talked out of my possession by a fourth year music major who had an awesome smile.  The whistle has a beautiful haunting tone; I have read reviews on this particular whistle regarding problems with tuning.  I have not experienced this problem myself and don't hesitate recommending the Chieftain low D to anyone wanting a low whistle.

Plays like a flute that popped its spring. I got a plastic Dixon at half the price that sounds 1000 times better. I will never buy another Chieftain as long as I live.
