No kill trap (if you choose) that is Very reliable
Bought this to catch a rat and it worked very well. I didn't use the kill method. I used a plastic storage container with a 5 pound weight duck taped on the top and it worked on the same principle as a rock or log. It took the rat 3 nights to get used to it then the 4th night he went for the bait 5 minutes after I set the trap. If youre having trouble keeping the trap centered and falling over, try leaning your weighted object very very slightly up against something sturdy and vertically straight and preferably smooth. That method worked very well for me setting the trap on my concrete patio. I just leaned it up against the pillar of the house were it meets the concrete.

Cheap for WHAT YOU WANT.
They are the size of a pair of CHOPSTICKS. These idiots writing unfavorable reviews saying "YOU COULD MAKE THESE IN YOUR MACHINE SHOP FOR MUCH LESS!!!" are morons because I DON'T HAVE A MACHINE SHOP and if I was going to spend the time to make one myself why wouldn't I do it out of carved wood when I get to wherever I am going?!?! BECAUSE IT IS A PAIN IN THE ASS WHICH IS WHY I AM BUYING THESE!!! These people are so stupid it beggars belief...Anyway, these are great. Take up no space and then set up - but you better have bait for the pointy end!

Over priced for just one
I really like the device but it's way over priced for just for one could have at least got two for twenty and it could have some little details change to improve the overall function but one for $20 is just to much you can get 5-10 wire snares for that

GOLD
I got mine (a 5 pack) from the self reliance pathfinder store. I had to chime in when I seen these reiews. They are Gold! Ingenious! Very light and sttrong for what the game they can take. SUPER Light TRIGGER! Dont let these others who obviously havnt used them or probably never had to rely on making their own. Also f you want it shorter to the ground for smaller game you can dig out a trough for the base to set in.

Light weight
Easy to setup, but appears to not be sized to be effective against small nuisance animals

Overpriced not worth it
Are you kidding? Another overpriced gadget. Anyone with a simple home shop can build these for a few dollars at most. $19.00 for a pop rivet and 3 pieces of aluminum flat bar.... Don't waste your money. I would prefer to carve my own with sticks. Sticks work fine with minimal practice and its a worthwhile skill to acquire and pass along to children. Anyone can make these on their own with minimal instruction. Deadfall tutorials can be found on numerous websites. Again overpriced... 3 pieces of aluminum and a pop rivet. All obtainable materials from any hardware store at 1/6 the cost.

Longevity
If you've ever made a figure 4 deadfall trap out of materials found on the forest floor, you'll appreciate this tool. You can't lose any pieces. Machined aluminum will last forever. Set up is self explanatory. I've bought 3 for my grandsons.
