All 3 devices were connected simultaneously for the experiment and everything worked well. It was a bit of work to find proper drivers but my curiosity has no limits so everything worked well.By the way, years ago I was using such a software for finding the right drivers for diverse devices after new installed Windows OS and was called DriverGenius as well, such a pity could not confirm if is the same company that's producing this adapter but if so, I'm very happy with both of their products.A very specific device, get it if you know you need it, surely recommended, it's made well, warranty from the seller and tech support so amazing value for it! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for hobbyists or if you still have a geniune need for serial ports *by L***K on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 19 January 2022* This adapter is described as being built to withstand harsh environments and it certainly look and feels to be well made. It also has a decent weight to it, not to say it is heavy but the type of weight you get from quality tech. I have had a few DriverGenius products previously and found them to be well made and reliable. It came well packaged in a retail box and inside you get the Adapter, USB-A to USB-B Cable and Instructions.With Windows, it should be plug & play but if not, then you can download the driver from the DriverGenius website – you can download a copy of the instruction as well. Mine was recognised straight away and I am using Windows 10. I believe with Mac, you need to have the driver, which the instructions say is on the included CD-ROM – which is not included. One thing to instructions do say, is that is will not support devices like a serial mouse. As they require either an I/O or IRQ number.Each of the four ports has its own Power, RX (for receiving) and TX for sending. The latter will flash when in use. You do need to go into device manager to configure each of the ports. Once done, it is good to go. Each of the ports has its own protective cap, so when not in use you can cover it up and save it from getting damage and/or dusty.The serial port technology may be a bit old hat, but this adapter is not and if you are a keen hobbyist or do have a specific requirement for one of them, then I think it is a good piece of kit. For a sizing guide, squares in photos are 1cm. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A useful device for connecting older peripherals to a modern PC / laptop *by K***D on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 20 January 2022* The first thing I noted with this product is the quaqlity of the build. It is not a plastic device, like many similar products are, the casing is made of good quality metal.The reason the casing is important is that plastic can't disapate heat and therefore plastic devices tend to only last a short time. Devices with metal cases can disapate heat so they are much coller internally when in use.For those that have all the latest hardware this is of no use but for those that have older moniters and printers then this is a great device as it can connect up to four peripherals which can be a mix of printers and monitors or up to four older monitors. Modern (up to date) monitors and printers no longer use serial ports but if asny of your hardware has a serial port as well as USB and / HDMI then this can still be handy as using the serial ports will free up a USB or HDMI one on the PC / laptop.Each of the serial ports has gold plates terminals, for the best quality connections and each also has a dust cap to keep the terminals clean and fre of debris.The four serial ports each have three lights to the left of them, red, amber and green. the red light shows that the port is live, the amber light shows when data is being transmitted (sent) and the green shows when data is being received so one can keep an eye on how the ports are performing.Set up is so easy as this is a P n P device (Plug and Play) so all one needs to do is connect this to a USB port, with the included USB cable and Windows will automatically detect it and load the necessary generic drivers and controllers. The it's a simple matter of connecting the peripherals to the serial ports, with serial cables and Windows will detect anything that connects to this hub and if there aren't already drivers installed Windows will install them.I am recommending this serial hub as it is well buiilt to a good quality standard, it will last a long time as it is strong and well built.
