POPPSTAR 1x 3m Self-Fusing Silicone Band, Silicone Tape, Repair Tape, Electrical Tape and Sealing Strip (water-tight, air-tight), 38mm wide, Transparent

I bought this product for use on circus props (specifically an LED leviwand). Hence this review does not relate to plumbing use. The tape provides extra grip for contact moves. It is sufficiently transparent that I can still get good LED visuals (tested on a Wandini), although there is some light diffusion. Tape has a slightly speckled finish (presumably dust from manufacturing) and is not 100% clear. Adhesion seems good initially but would need long term testing, the tape is repositionable on first use then seems to set. Due to the need to stretch to apply it's difficult to get an exact finish so I would only recommend for props where you can add balancing weights to the end caps (this is not available on the Wandini). Without this you may throw off your prop's balance during taping. This would be less of an issue for contact props as opposed to those with string. The item is quite expensive for the amount received and wouldn't be sufficient for hoop grip or a full dragon staff etc but it is suitable for medium contact sticks or levitation wands. It is considerably cheaper than paying import tax on tapes advertised for this purpose from the US. The tape will adhere to dust/dirt if dropped and require wiping with a damp cloth to restore. I have not yet tested how repeatedly wiping might affect the grip long-term.

I had 2 leaking radiator valves, after unsuccessfully tightening the nut which made no difference I tried this. I wrapped the valve in a few rounds of tape, left it for half an hour then rechecked it.. some of the water was still seeping thru (water always finds a way!), it was my fault as I hadn't wrapped it tight enough the first time. So I wrapped more and more around it, EVENTUALLY no leaks are coming through anymore. It was a bit fiddly (as the valves didn't give me much space to move) and sometimes the tape would double over and stick to itself which was annoying.My advice is:-Buy a spare roll as I used 1 roll completely on just 2 valves-Make sure you stretch the tape out when applying, really pull it tight-Squeeze the tape once applied to make sure its fully sticking to itselfI bought the 25mm wide one, in hindsight I think the 38mm would have been better

This tape must have a thousand and one uses. It is so versatile, being waterproof and self amalgamating (sticks to itself) is a real boon. I use it to form a seal around pipe joints, as long as there's not a lot of pressure it is fine. After applying the tape it forms quite a tight bond to itself and forms quite a strong component so it is useful if you want to construct a temporary binding such as a cable support, I have found it useful for attaching some parts, such as wires, on my 3D printers. Because it is silicone it ha s high heat resistance and can be used close to the hot parts.I first ordered the white tape by mistake instead of the clear but being so useful I have kept both.It's a very useful accessory to keep in your toolbox for all sorts of jobs.

I bought this to stop a leak in a u bend connection,but find that it has not been succesful as the area I was working in was constricted and the tape could not be kept flat while working it into the leaking joint.I feel this product is mainly for open areas where it can be easily wound around the leak.

Does what I wanted. I bought this to repair a leaking pipe in my watering system. I found it easy to use , not at all "too sticky" and sealed the hole immediately. If you make sure the final tail-end wrap finsihes upon itself there is no lifting. Make sure you stretch it whilst applying, as instructed; excellent stuff. I have already suggested my friend buys some for their leaking pipe ( I’m not giving mine away!) I have not tried to apply underwater but would be interested to try. I cannot comment on how long the mend lasts. I hope the unused product lasts for future use.

However hard I stretch and pull at this - following the instructions - I could not get the last piece to stick down so I have ended up using glue as well - a bit disappointed to be honest.

This is good but don't cut the strip in half width wise as it doesn't stick so well if you use it at full width. It stopped my cat chewing cables so that's great and it's clear so you can't even see it unless you're up close

Difficult to use and certainly doesn't work on extending hose
