WOW...Crazy sound for the money!
15 Years after ditching my old surround sound system for a sound bar setup, I decided it was time to go back to BIG sound. So many options out there from cheap satellites to next level Audiophile level stuff. After weeks of research I thought I had settled on Klipsch and Polk as they were priced well and were well respected by most people. Then I went down a crazy YouTube rabbit hole and happened upon a crazy amount of reviews for Jamo speakers.I am no Audiophile and I don't really want to be but I want good sound when I watch movies and spin some Vinyl. These S809's DO NOT DISSAPOINT! I plugged these in to my YAMAHA RX-V385 with no special configuration, and they produced some fantastic sound. Don't expect a killer amount of Bass but that's to be expected with these size of speakers. Once I plugged in a 20 year old powered Sony 10" sub, I was in heaven. If you aren't looking to break the bank on speakers, and want something to make you smile when watching the latest Star Wars release, I highly recommend you look at these Towers paired with the S83 Center and a sub of your choosing.Klipsch bought the Jamo brand for a reason...must have been something they liked right?

Beautiful speakers and good sound for medium size room.
Thank you Amazon Warehouse, I could not be happier except that the delivered package was delivered badly opened and I think it added more dents to this pair of black Jamo S809 speakers, but they seem to be pretty sturdy as they still function. That being said they are on trial as I notice a slight "SHHHHHHH" sound in the background that could also come from some bad home studio recording so wait and see. I like them a lot. They are as tall as the 21 y.o. pair of Cornet from the same brand I still own. These speakers are 8ohm impedance and work well with a 100w per channel receiver. My room is less than 30 meter square and they are great. I used a 16 avg wire to connectthem. They seem weak on the bass, but it might be because they are out of phase. I will correct that as soon as I have a new receiver. I deplore there is no wood anymore to make medium range speakers, but MDF covered with glued vinyle, not veneer, but oh well, at such a price, I cannot ask for the moon right? They are still beautiful and elegant, sturdy and heavy, around 10 kilos each according to me. Now, I am just waiting for a new receiver and push them a little bit further, but Rome was not made in one day so patience. I like the fact you can add heights for a virtual Atmos sound. What a great look it gives to my living room...yes, definitively. All in all it is a very good purchase...

They Pop! But I Mean That In A Good Way.
Pros: These speakers offer a lot of bang for the buck. Okay, so they're not Bowers & Wilkins or Martin Logan's, but they sound great! A Few Cons: There was only one set of feet in the package. Not a huge setback. I'll just use something else just to raise them off the floor a bit. Another con is that one of the grills was warped, but was able to fix it. Additionally, the terminal screws were very difficult to work with. The engineers must have had a toddler's fingers in mind when they designed them. Lastly, there were a couple of very small chips on a couple of the corners, no doubt from shipping. I guess that one's the price you pay for convenience? Anyway, none of these reasons were enough to make me want to return them. In fact, I would have rated these four and a half stars if I could have. Btw, go with the Jamos Atmos add-ons if you buy these. They clip right into the top. Very cool.

Near Audiophile quality at a low price
While a Klipsch fanatic, my dream speaker the LaScala is way too far out of my price range ($8000.00) so I was looking for a cheaper solution, but most of the lower end Klipsch were still out of my range. So as I was reviewing options I came across the Jamo S809 and after reading reviews and listening to Audiophile reviews I pulled the trigger as they (pair) were on sale for less than half their list price and the price of one Klipsch speaker of equivalent style. When they arrived the box was beat to heck but the speakers were okay with only minor edge damage. I immediately placed them in my living room system replacing a pair of Klipsch R-15 bookshelf speakers which though fantastic sounding were too small even with a Polk subwoofer for the 15 x 30 foot room. I hooked them up to the Sherwood 100 watt stereo receiver and began breaking them in running through my music collection on shuffle so they would be playing everything from classical to heavy metal. At first the highs were a bit harsh but as they broke in they mellowed out and now they sound fantastic letting me hear nuances that I can't hear on my family room system with the same music but running through some 40 year old BIC formula 4's and POLK monitor 40's. They definitely fill the room and even though they don't need the POLK subwoofer I kept it in the system for those songs that really like that extra bit of base. All in all I am very satisfied with theses speakers and would recommend them to anyone wanting lots of sound for very little money.
