I wish I would have un assed the extra money and gotten a good one with more "keys"...holding it in your hands, it's a solid piece of good wood, but if you really want it to resonate, you have to lay it on a table or some surface that resonates. Otherwise, it's really quiet.

I ACTUALLY HAVE 3 OTHER KALIMBAS' (DIFFERENT COUNTRIES, ) I FIND THIS 'MINI' ONE JUST PERFECT FOR WHO I BOUGHT IT FOR ! THIS HAS FINE, VERY SOFT TONES, WHICH MAKES THIS ONE VERY PLEASING TO HEAR.THIS IS DEFINATELY NOT LOUD AT ALL; BUT WOULD SOUND LOVELY IN BACKGROUND PIECES.

I got exactly what I paid for. The instrument is small, pocket size and easily played.
