I would have given this product 4 or 5 stars if I hadn't experienced a problem and was unable to contact the company through Amazon for support. First the Good: Easy installation (except for the bad part. , The stereo fits well, looks stock, the interface is intuitive, navigation has been flawless so far, and all the steering wheel functions work. The sound quality is EXPONENTIALLY better than the stock head unit! I was amazed!The Bad: This was installed in a 2006 X5 with the standard audio system (no factory Nav or DSP). After installation, the gauge cluster lighting was stuck on "full bright" and would not dim. This was very distracting when driving at night. I contacted customer support through Amazon and they were not able to help or reach the company. I was going to return the item for a refund but, being an Engineer, I wanted to figure out the problem. The issue is with the included CAN BUS Controller, but there is an easy fix. In the provided wiring harness, the Orange wire that comes out of the back of the stereo is spliced to form a "Y". One wire from the "Y" goes to the CAN BUS Controller and the other wire goes to the Main Wiring Harness/ Block Connector. Both "Y' wires are also Orange. You will need to cut the Orange wire that goes to the CAN BUS Controller. Do not cut the wire that feeds the Main Harness/ Block Connector. Be sure to cover the exposed ends of the cut wire with electrical tape. After that minor modification, the gauge lights and everything else works as it should.Keep in mind there are no installation instructions,so you're on your own with the physical installation. There is a User Guide however that helps in setting up the stereo/ User Interface.All in all, it's a significant improvement over the stock stereo and hard to beat for the price! I am very satisfied with the end product, but am disappointed with the lack of support and time I spent diagnosing and fixing the bug with the gauge cluster lighting. Outside of that issue, it's been very good so far.

Installation was on a 2004 X5 BMW with the Business radio. Don't know if I received an incorrectly designed unit, but it requires significant surgery to the dash to make it fit properly and look nice. Secondly, something in the Can Bus adapter was keeping the radio awake with or without the key on. Third, upon boot up, it would start playing a Chinese video that is pre installed and apparently cannot be removed. Would I buy it again, absolutely not. I have been doing stereo installs for many years and fortunately have the tools and skill set to make it work. I doubt most other people would, nor would it be worth their time to try. Not plug and play, doesn't fit dash without substantial cutting of internal dash pieces, and phantom Chinese video that won't go away!

Bought it for my father’s 2005 BMW X5. Was easy to install and works well.
