Color:Factory Edge, Sealed This listing allows you to decide (by 'Color' option) to select from either a factory-sealed razor or one that has been further honed 'Shave Ready' by The Superior Shave [the manufacturer's authorized US service agent] using intentionally-convex whetstones, just as is used in Solingen, Germany. The 'Shave Ready' razor will arrive to you ready to shave, simply remove the anti-rust oil before your first attempt, without stropping. The '88' is a "blank face" version of the venerable Bergischer Löwe razor, chosen in its design for the superior thinness/concavity of the blank of steel along with an understated and durable style. This razor is given a hand-finished satin-matte lustre, and bears the "88" designation (and manufacturer's marque) at the tang. There is no other writing on the razor itself beyond that which is laser engraved upon the tang discreetly. The form and production value is allowed to be the star. This is a "shoulderless" razor, meaning that the traditional secondary ridge of a normal German full hollow ground razor has been ground away, resulting in a more comfortable handling and nothing to avoid on the strop or hone. It is also notably thinner than other full hollow ground razor blanks - and, indeed, it is as thinly ground as any 5/8 "extra" hollow ground designated Solingen razor. Made exclusively for The Superior Shave and in a limited run of just 220 pieces, the "88" is sure to be a future classic.
