Image Dynamics CTX Series (CTX65 2-Way Coaxial)

Great set of speakers. Easy to install, powerful, clear, quality sounding mids. Recommend them for the price point. Originally went for a cheaper set for about $40 less. Wasn't worth it. If you're thinking about saving a few bucks. Just dish it out initially so you don't have to go back and make the right choice.

Bought these hooked them up to 52 watt x 4 sony HU. Was not extremely happy until I added the alpine amp to them.. WOW they Rock!!! They are great in the midbass range. I have the CTX65 in the back and CTX69 running in the front. VERY Good products.!

I am using these as rear fill in my 2013 Fiat 500 Turbo. Amazon indicates that these do not fit. I had them professionally installed and the shop had to modify the car's mounting plate. It was no problem for my shop to upgrade the paper 3" speakers to these. The install looks totally stock.Like the Image Dynamics 6.5CS component speakers I have installed in the front, these will benefit from more power. I am planning an amplifier upgrade now. Nothing my installer sells comes close for anywhere near the price.

I have owned, installed, blown, and thrown out a lot of speakers in my time and I must say that theses Image Dynamics have impressed. First off is the physical size of the speaker - WOW - not a cheap speaker and remember your mounting depth with these as they are large behind the cone. I have 85W going to each from a Hifonics amp and they just don't stop, they get louder and stay surprisingly clear at high volumes. They have really good range with crisp highs and good mids. I cannot speak to their low frequency response as I have all frequencies below 100Hz going to my JL W6's. I think accuracy and volume are great with perhaps some of the nicer BA's or MBQuarts I've owned taking better sound honors, but not necessarily the volume that these Image Dynamics can handle, and price isn't close. They are loud and stay clean, really what some are looking for. Taking the "Loud" out of the equation leaves you with a really decent set of speakers that sound great and don't break the bank.

These sound great! I have them tuned to 80hz and have the amp tuned to the proper wattage. They can be turned all the way up with no distortion. I have also verified that my head unit and amp have no distortion at max volume with a scope meter. If you do have any problems with these that could be a problem for you. I would recommend image dynamics to anyone. Great clean sounding system.

I purchased these to go with my Image Dynamics CTX65S's I have in the front of my Tacoma double cab. I can not believe how great they sound considering I only have a Sony head unit powering them. I am purchasing a amplifier soon and will update after installing that.

These speakers are a bit brighter than their Component brothers but, the sound quality is still quite good. They handle 100 watts full range as advertised though I'm giving them 125w while crossed over at about 85hz without distortion or issue.They're not +$500 5 star worthy but at this price, you'd be hard pressed to find much else under $300 that sounds much better if you ask me.These are deep speakers. I had no problem mounting them in my 2012 Ford Focus but my doors are deep and I had room to spare. I imagine this could be problematic for some vehicles.
