I bought this for my Grandson and his lovely partner who have just had their first child, my great grandson was born at the beginning of the month and to help relieve some of their worries I thought a thermometer that could be placed on the babies forehead and later as he grows, placed in his ear would be a good idea, the thermometer is none invasive and only needs seconds of contact on the little ones forehead to give an accurate temperature in either Fahrenheit or Centigrade it also reads the ambient temperature that the baby is in.This thermometer has nice smooth lines, is pleasing to touch, easy to use and comes in nice clean colours of white and grey it is shaped a bit like a dolphin and my great grandson doesn’t mind his temperature took at all, his mum thinks it is a godsend and is very pleased with this item.It turns itself off when not in use so the battery should last for a long time and is very easy to keep clean, this in itself is another plus for this thermometer, it should remain germ free without problem and it comes with a nice draw string soft bag to keep it in.I have used Fairywill stuff before and it has never let me down they give great after sales service and the build quality is excellent so I am looking forward to this lasting a long time and hopefully not having to be used to often but to be there to give peace of mind when it needs to be or to give early warning of any oncoming illness, not to often I hope, fingers crossed.

I suffer with an auto immune disorder that affects my ability to regulate my body temperature. Often not realising my temperature is dangerously high until I'm at the point of fever, hallucinating etc and needing hospitalisation. This is a Godsend! Record a temperature in a split second, and can compare results throughout the day so I now have an idea of my 'normal' pattern. This enables me to monitor myself and know when to act, before it gets too high. I used to use strips. Not anymore!! I've used it on my forehead, in my ear and under my arm to test out the differing results, and it's always accurate. Very easy to use and an absolute necessity in my house now. Portable enough to carry it around with me in my handbag when out and about. Have already recommended this to family and friends, including those who have babies/small children. With the grandkids staying over more regularly I thought it best to be safe than sorry and get myself a modern electronic thermometer. I chose this model because I have bought Fairywill products in the past and found them to be good value and reliable. This thermometer is just like the one my local GP uses, no more sticking things under the tongue. Using is so very simple, either place on the forehead or in the ear and press the relevant button. Results are almost instantaneous and consistent. It comes with a nice travel pouch and a concise manual, but to be honest this thing is so simple to use straight out the box you don't really need to read the manual. It's powered by 2 AAA batteries that are included.

This thermometer is so easy to use ! Simply apply to forehead or ear, press the button, read the temperature! So much easier to use than a traditional thermometer, more hygienic too.I think the casing itself is a little slippy, getting the top off is not that easy, I would’ve liked a little more grip, (maybe it’s just me) Also the plastic feels a little fragile, however considering what its designed for its perfectly adequate, the important thing is that it works accurately and quickly.Nice little bag to keep it in and a comprehensive manual although to be honest I’m unlikely to do much except read my current temperature so I’m not sure I’ll ever use the other programs, but they’re there if you need them.The display is easy to read and lights up so you can see it in the dark should you need to check your temperature during the night. (Nothing worse than having to put the lights on full blast in the middle of the night when you’re ill!)Tried both methods of use, ear and forehead....both exactly the same reading, so use whichever you prefer! If you have children it will be so useful to be able to check their temperature via the forehead as often children’s ears are swollen a little when they are ill and they can be a little sore inside. Great idea. All in all a very accurate device. Put in some decent batteries and it’ll last you a lifetime if you look after it!
