Excellent Arc lighter (and great customer service!)
Seems people have had quality control issues with these. I actually ordered the butane version from the same company first, and it had issues depending on the angle of the nozzle (not so convenient for needing it to light candles) so they referred me to this model as a replacement and their customer service is superb. It is the arc type lighter, designated as Size 21.I have purchased other arc type lighters in the past, of other brands, and have not always been pleased with them (only need really is for lighting candles, tea lights, and such) so I wasn't sure of their suggestion, but I appreciated the customer service (highly responsive seller) and followed their recommendation for this one instead of the butane.Arrived today, 3/4 charged already, and I was impressed immediately with the solid weight and quality of the build. Metal housing with a rubberized area, which is a big improvement over other brands I've tried, that were all plastic. This one has a feeling of quality and a sturdy heft to it.One of the best parts is the battery life indicator. In other brands, there is no warning when the battery is running low, and nothing is more frustrating than going to use it, and it's dead, and having to wait hours to charge it. With this one, I'll know when the charge is starting to run low, and can get it ready for regular use again. In terms of the "safety" feature, if the button on the bottom is slid to "On," then the lighter ignites when deployed (using the front switch to slide out the arc device). It does only operate for ten seconds at a time, but I've had no issue with that; it's more than enough time to light a candle, because, far superior to other brands I've had, this one seems more powerful. As I say, I wasn't too keen on the idea of an arc lighter when first suggested, from past experiences with other brands where I hold the arc against a wick for quite a while with nothing happening, but, with this one, it lights the wick almost immediately. Great! So, I'm very happy with that, and it tells me that not all brands are creating this technology equally. This one is much more effective, in my experience. After use, if you leave the bottom switch "On," the blue power indicator lights remain lit, reminding you not to leave the device on. Switch it to "Off" on the bottom, and, after doing so, if you slide out the arc mechanism, it will NOT ignite. So, that's the safety feature as they are calling it, basically an on/off switch, separate from the deployment slide, that regulates whether or not it will ignite when deployed.Action of the slide is assured, when it clicks the arc mechanism in or out, and there is just nothing that feels "cheap" about this, as has been my unfortunate experience in other brands I've purchased or handled in the past. So, I'm very pleased! Pricing is also favorable, and usually there is a further savings coupon showing up when making the purchase. I'm glad they suggested this as the butane replacement. It does include a charging cord, but for whatever reason it is somewhat short. Not sure why they provide such a short charging cord, however, it is just a USB to micro USB (not a proprietary charging cord) and, because so many products use that type of cord, I have a ton of longer ones around, and so I just have used any of those, and it charges fine. Just plug it into any USB power source, to charge it. Again, with today's devices, most of us are sure to have lots of USB charging ports or wall plugs laying around.Charging from 3/4 full to full charge took about 15 minutes, so I'm guessing maybe an hour or something to fully charge it, from a single dot or 1/4 indication, based on the four lights showing power level (which is when the instructions indicate to stop using it and plug it in). So, certainly an acceptable re-charge time. All in all, this one is a big win, in my opinion. I definitely would recommend it, and, if you have any issues, just message the Seller, and they will address it. I'm very impressed with the customer care.If anything goes wrong with it, I'll provide an update, but I'm certainly feeling five stars in my first days of use with it, and I'm expecting it to perform well for a long time to come. Thanks for reading, hope this has helped! :)

Works as claimed but requires some practice
The wand feels good in the hand. Has a hefty feel to it when you hold it. When igniting the charge it takes a little practice to know how long it zaps so you can light the source. Otherwise it quickly vanishes. For some reason our wand doesn't hold a charge in between use as well as claimed. Not sure if we have a bad unit or this is something that is inherent to all.

Love This Lighter
Love, love, love this electric lighter. It's the perfect length for my candles, it's slick, it's different, it's perfect. Love it! And the little purple electric currently is so cool. I want to also mention how impressed I am with the safety features of this lighter. There are two steps to get this to work: turn on switch, then slide up switch and that's when two prongs (and current) come out.

Electric Arc Lighter, USB Rechargeable...
This thing is awesome. Looks nice enough to be giftable. They’ll thank you too! Makes lighting deep reach wicks easy. No turning a candle sideways, upside down, contorted, on your head to get a candle lit. Zap it with this and you’re good to go. A pyromaniacs dream come true. You’ll want to light all your candles; I mean wife’s candles. Your wife will wonder why you’re so excited to light her candles. Just being a good husband : ) and playing with this thing!

I enjoyed product but it stopped working after three weeks of use. For occasional use fine but I used it where I worked at an it stopped after a while.

Lasted for 3 months
Sadly I'm writing to inform you that this thing only lasted for 3 months. Charged it once and everything is okay. after the second charge it won't even turn on. No indication lights or anything.

Love it
Had an issue with first one but Amazon is really good @ replacing damaged items. Works great and battery life is pretty good too.
