When I received this item I thought the quality seemed very good. I had read reviews about the item and lots of people were having problems with it charging by solar. Most had not removed the plastic film from the solar cells, so I did not make the same mistake. The plastic covering the solar panel was hard to see, though. Upon my initial charging in the house, I did have a little problem getting the cable plugged in because of the misalignment of the female plug.However, I am a technician and have worked with things like this for years, so I was able to correct the issue to where it could be plugged in with no problem. I charged it up and tested at night and was very happy with how well it worked. However, I don't drive my car much at night, but when I do, the lit-up cup holders is what I really wanted. The only problem was that they were dead. Hopefully, under normal Florida sun (The Sunshine State) I expected then to stay fully charged in the cup holders, so I would not have to pull them out every time to charge. Unfortunately, they would not charge by solar sitting even directly in the full sun. Right now, they only work as coasters because I am not going to use them if I have to charge them manually every time.Just pay attention to other buyers reviews if you are concerned about them charging by solar. Hopefully, you won't have the issue I had because I waited past my return date and am sitting with a couple of coasters that really do not serve the purpose I had expected them to fulfill.Evidently, they have some quality control issues with this item. I will update this review if I take them apart and see what the problem is with the solar.

Look nice and colorful but battery didn’t last long even with USB full charge. Solar not doing well in the car . The thickness make coffee cup unsupportive :(

These were absolute junk. Came half apart. One didn't charge at all and the other barely turned on. Terrible flimsy plastic quality, not at all or an ounce close to what was showed for it to be!

Worthless. Unresponsive after one month. Impossible to return. Waste of time and money. Believe the negative reviews!

returned. I wanted these because they had the solar chargers and I wanted to leave them in my car that has a pano sunroof, and they never charged.

I'm using these in the cupholder of a Toyota Avalon. looks pretty cool. thinking about get a set for the cupholders for the sofa for movie nights. adds a different vibe.

Seem cheaply made. Never worked quite right and within a week of receiving them the stopped working all together.
