Perfect Gate Latch
The media could not be loaded. So much better than a pull string. We installed this latch right at elbow level for easy operation when our hands are full. Our old gate feels new again. This latch was a major upgrade. It's solid metal and well built. The spring mechanism feels like it will last for years. I Highly recommend this latch.

Perfect for my needs but had to order twice
I ordered this latch with another item and ended up having to order twice. The original shipment was returned to shipper (Amazon?) due to damage in transit and never arrived. After waiting for Amazon to sort this out, I reordered. Both items arrive in a timely fashion. This latch was exactly what I needed, installed without fuss and securely latches my gate exactly as I needed. It also allows easy opening from each side and the ability to attach a lock on either side of the gate. Very pleased

Very solid gate latch.
I installed this on my 10 ft steel gate door. Install was very easy because latch came with self-tapping screws. The latch is really solid and holds the large gate securely closed. My only wish is if they would have done a complete weld around the latch stud as this is the part that will take the hardest hit when closing.

Gate lock
Didn't use it ,not for use with metal gate, seems to be sturdy for wood gate use.Amazon had it paired with metal gate, will not work in that application.

Smooth operation
I had a fence built years ago and used some really simple hinges on the two gates. I replaced them with these in about 5 minutes each using a small drill bit and a ratchet. The other style I had was very sensitive with alignment and had to be adjusted multiple times over the years. This one seems to be a bit more forgiving since it is spring locking instead of gravity. The open/close and latching of this is super smooth. A+++ would buy again.*Note: My 6ft wide gate had a much larger post in the ground to secure it too. The latch has a L shaped piece of metal on the back which is supposed to extend past the post. I had to hammer that back L flat and break the piece off. Once I had mounted everything is still felt incredibly sturdy and didn't affect the way the latch works in any way.

Rugged gate latch, that closes and opens beautifully
I had to replace the poorly-designed latch that I got at a box store-- you know the latches that require you to slam the gate to close it, if it closes at all. Then you need to drill a hole through the post and run a cable if you want to open the gate from the outside. This latch is sturdy and well-designed. Installation was super easy, although I only had about 1/2" clearance between the post and the gate. I just planed down the 4X4 post about 3/8" to make sure this wider latch would fit (see picture). Just FYI- you will need a minimum of about 3/4" clearance for this latch to fit-- this was not clearly stated in the product description, but it's an easy enough fix if you've got a planer or chisel.

Easy to install and holds up well
I bought one of these over a year ago for our front gate which gets used every time someone goes from the driveway to the door of the house or back to the driveway. It is as solid as the day I installed it. I recently bought another one for a lesser used gate and am sure it will last practically forever. Solid and sturdy and you don't have to latch it. Just swing the gate shut and it latches perfectly every time. Never thought I'd love a gate latch!
