It was a humble shop selling only a few items. Today, the shop sells khakhras in several delicious flavours and lots of snacks. In fact, her products were so well-received that she came to be known as "Induben Khakhrawala". It all started in 1960, when Induben's family suffered financial problems and she began making four to five snacks at home. Initially, Induben used to sell the snacks to neighbours. As most Gujaratis are fond of snacks, her business grew and within four years she established herself as a force to reckon with. And today, this "lady with a magic touch" isn't around but people continue to remember her. Her delicious khakhras and other snacks have ensured that her legacy continues. In 1990, Hiren Jhaveri, Induben's son, left his job and got into the business to make her mother's dream a reality. "It is my mother's goodwill that the people continue to come here to buy the products long after she is gone," says Jhaveri.
