Will not work with apple mini-displayport to VGA adapter
I purchased this product to connect my new macbook pro (with USB C ports) to my mini-displayport to VGA adapter, which then connects to my monitor. Unfortunately, this product will not work for this intended purpose. It is not easy to tell that from the description, so make sure you read the specifications carefully. I am giving 5 stars not for the product, but for the customer service. I contacted the seller and they explained the issue and offered to send me a new adapter that will work for me.

Didn't work for me
Having just changed out my 2012 iMac for a new 2019 iMac, I needed to connect the two external monitors I had hooked up to my old iMac. This were connected by a Cable Matters MiniDispalyPort to DVI cable and worked just fine. Since the old computer used a Thunderbolt 2 connection for this cable, and the new iMac did not have a Thunderbolt 2 connection, but only a Thunderbolt 3 connection, I needed something to allow the new connection. So I bought this adapter. Plugged my Thunderbolt 2 cable into it and plugged the adapter into my Thunderbird 3 port on my new computer. Nada. Fiddling with the connection didn't help. So... I bought this Benfel cable [- and - voila! - it works.I should have skipped the Thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter and bought this at first.

Can get 2560 resolution with new iMac and old mini-DisplayPort to DVI cable.
Worked well with 2019 iMac to connect new iMac to mini-DisplayPort cable to external monitor. The direct USB-C to DVI cables for the iMac did not appear to support 2560 resolution, but this cable allowed me to connect to my old mini-DisplayPort to DVI cable and get 2560 resolution on my external monitor.

Fits extremely tightly in my machook Pro's USB-C port
Overall this is a nice compact USB-C to Mini-DisplayPort adapter. Feels sturdy. The trouble I have with it is that at least the one I got fit very snugly and I had to pull with a lot of force to remove it from my MacBook Pro. I will be using it with a Thunderbolt 3 dock so it won't have to be removed very often. If I had to remove it often I am afraid it would break whatever USB-C port it was plugged into.

Only work with certain cables....
I recently upgrade got a 2018 Macbook and thought I could re-use some of my existing cables with this adapter instead of replacing all the cables. This only works my DP to MiniDP cable,,, Does not on any of my DVI to MiniDP cables.I was also running into serious Bluetooth issues while using this adapter. I've been battling with my magic mouse and airpod disconnecting issue for several weeks. Tried everything and finally decided not to use cable for few days and confirmed it was indeed caused by this adapter.... I couldn't return because took me too long to find this out... Should have gone for full DP to USB-C instead.

Not compatible with NEC Multisync and iMac
I used the adapter to connect an NEC MultiSync EA275UHD to an iMac Pro. Every time the Mac's power saver turned off the displays, when I woke the computer up and the displays came back on, the NEC display would not wake up properly until I power-cycled it. Then it worked. NEC tech support said the Keezing adapter was not communicating display status back to the computer properly. They recommended the j5create adapter. The j5create adapter fixed the problem: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D51UMW6/ref=s9_acsd_hps_bw_c_x_3_w

Works Just like it should
I used this to connect an old (but still great!) Apple LED Cinema Display to my new 15" Touch Bar MacBook Pro and it powered it up immediately. It's nice that it's more of a braided cable than a 'dongle' because it is fits in much more seamlessly than those awkward connectors. Minus the color, it just looks like it's part of the cable and is flexible enough to just hang down and be forgotten while it does its job.

Works great for display port, not for Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2
This converter works fine to go from USB-C to Mini-display port, but it won't work on a thunderbolt 3 port (USB-C plug on Macs) to a thunderbolt 2 cable for data transfer. So, video? Yes. Data, for hard drives etc? No.
