A: yes, these are made of wood and metal. the wood seems to be pressed wood fiber.

A: I don't know for sure but no where in the ad does it mention any recycled content. I'd say the answer is no. JMO

It has a metal piece that pops out with a hole in the center that allows you to hang it on the wall. My husband uses this to hold invoices or estimates when he goes to a customers house. Its very convientent and sturdy. My grandkids use them when they want to draw pictures while sitting on the couch.
